Two games in and I have several thoughts that I would like to share with you gentleman:

1.) Our defensive front seven are performing great thus far. Our tackles are incredibly active and are capable of getting into the backfield and causing problems for the offense. Also, Hastings, Barber and Scott have looked great so far. And our outside linebackers are looking great. Alphonso and Jelani and really fast and are making plays and keeping outside contain very nicely.

2.) On the same note, how about Neal Huynh?! The dude is a monster up front! Of everyone on the roster, I would have to rank Neal #1 as an NFL prospect. 6-3 300+ and very quick. It's awesome that we get him and Carl for another year.

3.) I said this on another thread, but our offensive backfield is so deep and any one of those guys could be our every down back. We have two more years with Boykin and Blankenship! Holy crap!

4.) THIS TEAM IS BUILT FOR COLD WEATHER. We have (perhaps) the best running game we've ever had, running behind the best O-line we've ever had. Not to mention that our run defense has been amazing thus far. Combine this with our depth on the offensive side of the ball and you have a team that can really succeed down the stretch.

5.) MORE SNAPS FOR SNYDER. In 2008 we lost Theo for the year and in 2009 we lost Boo for the year. Tettleton will probably go down at some point during the season. Is it going to be a series? A game? A few games? Who knows, but we'll need Snyder ready when it happens.

6.) MORE COWBELL AND MORE BRAZILL. I need to see Brazill get more touches in the next few games. He should have the ball in his hands at least 15 times per game including punts. He's just too much of a threat to go unused.

7.) I'm a little worried about the MLB position next year. I think we need to bring in a JUCO to try and bridge the gap between Keller and Stefanski(sp?)/Russell. It doesn't seem like we're comfortable with Joe yet, which makes me think a good JUCO might be helpful there.

8.) Oh, and Rob C (Haldeman) , sorry for my insolence...you and Russ are doing a great job.

Russell should start as a true freshman next year....if Stefanski beats him out then Stefanski is really good....a nice problem to have.

I believe Russell will be a true sophomore next year or a redshirt freshman.

Doc, why do you think Russell will start next year as a red-shirt frosh? Has he been impressive this fall or working with the practice group? I don't doubt that he'll be a good one for us, but I haven't heard anything that makes me think he'll be ready to go for sure.

re: #4:  You must have missed Bobcat football from 1996-2007.  I like our team right now, but to call it the best running game ever is just uninformed.

Agree.  Hookfin and Wilson with Buckman as a backup wasn't bad.

Just things I've picked up talkin to my "birdies"......sometimes right....sometimes wrong.....but I think the birdie that predicted Tettleton to start over a year ago was spot on.
