Arkley tweets that Bates did NOT look good at all today. No way he is our starting QB, look for him to be the "wildcat" guy again, if not at another position.

It's just one practice...

Although reading through some of Arkley's previous Tweets he did confirm that while Bates will be given a chance to win it early in camp, he's intent on identifying a single QB early on...

This stuck out for me from Lavon too...

Any younger guys standing out?

"We have a corner, Lorenzo Fisher. He can run, he can jump and he’s quick. He’s a tough young guy and I don’t usually give them credit, but he’s doing alright."

Edit...

Went back to watch his film and remembered him immediately...Man that kid can close on the ball!

Ha, I watched Fisher's video too after reading Lavon's quote. He looks really quick and he has decent size for a corner. His team had 14 guys go on to play college football, so he's probably used to competing at a very high level. It looks like he also played WR in high school...perhaps we have a new return man?

More stuff from Arkley...

http://twitter.com/#!/Jason_Arkley

If you're on twitter he answers questions after EVERY practice. The more we ask the more answers we get, so hop on and ask questions!

I didn't mean to slam the twitter coverage....it's better than me trying to fly The Solich Soarer over practice and snappin pictures with my Kodak.

Some interesting names have emerged on twitter even after 2 days:

Landon Smith was making sick catches in spring practice and contiues to do so in the first two days.

A.J. Grady at lber is continuing to impress.....I sat with his family duing the Wofford game and they were awesome.

Antwan Crutcher LOOKS like a huge DT and may need to play huge to help clog that middle....Marcellis hopefully can give him some devine guidance.

Lorenzo Fisher has the quicks....nice for DB's and maybe a future as a return guy.

Derrius Vick has the athletic ability to be an outstanding QB.....time and maturation will tell...he looks like he was underrated as a hs qb.

I'm hopin the twitter guys can provide us with some D-line updates.  Everyone is wringing their hands and gnashing their teeth about the QB situation....it won't matter if the D-line is porous.

Also in those tweets I saw positive comments about Purdum and Crutcher at DT, and Albrecht at DE.

To whom it may concern: "have went" is not grammatical.  It should be "have gone."  When you tweet or write in other venues do so with good grammar.   This is not directed at anyone who has posted on this board or in this thread.  It is aimed a party who I hope reads this board and will clean up his act.

So far I've really enjoyed Arkley's tweets and Fraley's stuff on ohiobobcats.com.

Some of the more interesting stuff...at least to me:

* D lineman like Junior Corey Hastings and true freshman Antwan Crutcher have been practice players of the day.

* LBer A.J. Grady gets almost a daily mention.

* All the kickers seem to be in mid season form.

* True Freshman CB's Lorenzo Fisher and Devin Bass have closing speed at CB.

* Brandon Purdum has entered the picture as a true freshman d-lineman who may get some pt.

* G-man has cleaned the grill and is putting together a tailgate menu as I type.

* Nathan Carpernter  and Josh Kristoff may get some pt at safety.

* Derrius Vick and Ronnie Bell are extremely athletic QB's.

* Doc has mothballed The Soarer because of all these tweets.

* Relentless will be an outstanding recruiting tool.
