This is what I've heard on the non-conferance side:

South Dakota School of Mines
David Lipscomb
Sonoma State
Shawnee State

I see you're taking Bobcat Love literally instead of understanding that he often uses apocalyptic imagery.

The question was surrounding the MAC schedule. Non-con is already set.

9/3 - @ New Mexico St.
9/10 - Gardner-Webb

It has already been posted when they typically come out, but I'll add in what opponents we know we'll have and where.

@ Bowling Green
@ Akron
vs. Miami
@ Buffalo
vs. Temple
vs. Kent State

2 MAC West Opponents, one each home and away.  We're due for games with Western and Central, I'd guess vs. Western and @ Central, but the West rotation always seems to be a crap shoot.

I like the Non Con schedule. I think the Bobcats have a good chance to win all four PROVIDED they show up ready to play.
Even though New Mexico State is in decline it will still be a hard fought game. We are due to beat Marshall and Rutgers isn't quite the program they were a few years back. IF the Bobcat program is indeed rising we should win at least 3 of these games.

I wont express an opinion until Wanamaker tells me what it should be.  Hopefully he'll include another w.t.f reference to Nevada football as he so insightfully did when he set my thinking correct in how there's no way O-regon could have benefitted from a different approach to its goal line running game vs. Auburn.

They play @ Kentucky, Michigan St and NC State.  5 home games.  And SC State at home.  Nice schedule, not so good home schedule, huh?

FBJim...take 2-2 here.  I know we may have the better coaching (staff) in these match ups and I know we "develop" young men.  However, reality says that a Rutgers (with 4-4 stars and 5-3 stars this year) and Marshall (19 3 stars this year) probably have better talent than OUr team.  On the other hand, we match up or may have a bit better talent than NMSU.  GW better be a gimme!

3-1 is a stretch!

I like that we have a managable cross over game on the road against CMU. I wonder who we play at home in the cross over? EMU is likely due or WMU. WMU-Ohio would be neat with both Solich and Cubit in their 7th years. Cubit has done a decent job in K-Zoo but it looks like his program is tailing off. Central has really taken over the state of Michigan in MAC level recruiting since Brian Kelly and that is leaving WMU to fight uphill.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

If this team can get past New Mexico State, Gardner Webb and Marshall that sets up the Rutgers game as a potential BCS or bust run for us.  Rutgers is a winable game for us.  They are not that much better than the best teams in the MAC.  This is the type of schedule that Hawaii and Ball State had to make a run at unbeaten seasons.  Imagine ESPN talking heads bashing Solich next December  for the soft schedule and debate if we are BCS bowl worthy.

I doubt it's Eastern Michigan. We played them this past season on the road. We played Toledo at home. Last year, we had Northern Illinois at home and traveled to Ball State. In theory, the team we should have at home is Western Michigan.

If this comes to pass, you can count me as one very happy camper!

I do like your optimistic thinking.  In my mind that's what the off-season is all about: dreaming the impossible dream for next year.  Perhaps my years as a Cub fan have given me the ultimate "wait 'til next year mentality."  I used to, as a kid and young man live and die each day with the Cubs.  In more recent years, I've only occasionally watched games and only really paid attention when it looked like the Cubs had a chance for the playoffs.  I think I lost my keen level of interest after the Cubs pulled defeat from the jaws of victory in the 1984 playoffs.  After winning the first two games at home, they only needed ONE victory at SD to clinch the pennant.  After blowing the first two at SD, it came down to this final game, as summarized by the ever-semi accurate Wikipedia:

"As if to tease their fatalistic fans, the Cubs started out well in the final and deciding game of the series. Durham hit a two-run homer in the first and Davis added a solo homer in the second to give the Cubs a 3–0 lead. With National LeagueCy Young Award winner and Game 1 victor Rick Sutcliffe pitching brilliantly, the Cubs maintained their lead until the bottom of the sixth. Then disaster struck in a way that left many Cubs fans muttering about curses and other storied collapses in the franchise's history.

Chicago's downfall began innocently enough, with San Diego getting two sacrifice flies in the sixth to cut the Cubs' lead to 3–2. But the Padres' seventh proved catastrophic for Chicago. Carmelo Martínez led off the inning with a walk, was sacrificed to second by Garry Templeton, and scored when Tim Flannery's grounder trickled through Durham's legs for a crucial error. Alan Wiggins singled Flannery to second, and Gwynn doubled both runners home to give the Padres a 5–3 lead. Garvey followed with an RBI single to stretch the lead to 6–3. Steve Trout then replaced Sutcliffe on the mound and got out of the inning unscathed.

The Cubs got three baserunners over the final two innings against Gossage but could not score, and San Diego took home its first National League pennant. The Padres would go on to lose the World Series to the dominant Detroit Tigers in five games."

Well, I hope that this doesn't bore you too much, but I kind of got on a "down memory lane" roll.

Last year, the schedule was released on March 1st. So we should be getting close. I think WMU released their opponents and Ohio wasn't one of them so scratch them off the list.

I have heard Ball St. at home and CMU on the road. We'll probably find out soon.

NOT that I like to make preseason predictions, BUT If Ball state at home is true I see us with only 2 losses this year, @CMU and our anual 'wtf we lost?!?!?' game @BG.

If that is the case and we have a loss at CMU and a loss at BG, which I doubt I doubt we win the East.

The BG program looks lost right now under Dave Clawson with a terrible sophmore season. My instinct says BG (even after all the years we've struggled against them) is falling squarely under bobcat control. Like Miami and Akron, BG is on the path to becoming another annual layup on the Ohio schedule. Its crazy to speculate but our toughest MAC game could be @CMU and they aren't all that great anymore. An undefeated MAC season is a possibility. Every game on the 2011 schedule is winnable.

Homecoming weekend set for Oct. 15, 2011

Who do we want to see on the field that day?
