That would be an impressive hire.

Agreed, would be a great addition to the staff.

Good Googly Moogly that would be a huge hire...I take it we're assuming Coach Burrow might be enticed by a bigger job in the near future?

Look's like it's official.

This sounds like a great hire. I can't imagine it happens very often that a Big Six DC comes to coach at one of the other 5 conferences. I wonder what was at play here. But then again it doesn't happen very often that a two-time Big 12 Coach of the Year comes to coach in the other 5.

LOts of credentials.  Sounds too good to be true with our low paying staff numbers.  I'm guessing he won't stay long, but I hope he will.

Who knows? He could be looking three years down the road when Frank's contract has expired and he (perhaps) has decided to take a step back.

There is something to be said for job stability as well.

Not a real big surprise since Colorado has a new coach and staff......just proves the point that we are a top notch program that attracts the best.

"Ohio was able to hire Collins despite the university’s hiring freeze because of a waiver approved by President Roderick McDavis, said Jason Corriher, assistant athletics director for Media Relations."

Here come the faculty radicals...

One reason why he was available could be that Colorado gave up 400 yds a game last year.  Only three MAC teams (BG, Akron and Eastern) were worse.  I'm sure there were a lot of reasons for it, but as DC he had to take the heat.  Still, having someone from a Big 6 conference on the coaching staff is a huge plus.  He has big game experience and has credentials that can help recruiting.

Hopefully the parents reading the board don't complain about the number of weeks off before conditioning starts.....Intramurals!

Thank you for that content-filled non sequitur style post.  I wonder if this qualifies as 'never posting anything that adds value.'

I'm good at that, too...but at least you can tell that I know I'm doing it when I do it.

Yes and I bet this hire will assist in our western recruiting strategy that has paid off with quite a few talented players from the left coast.

He worked for Dan Hawkins. Dan Hawkins gave the intramurals rant b/c parents called in complaining about the staff's scheduling of conditioning programs. While a reach, it's definitely not off topic or lacking in content.

Maybe.  And I admit that it's a fun link.  It's more your semi-habit of total dismissal of certain other posters which is irksome.  None of us knows it all.  None of us know that much, actually.  So, totally dismissing others may be a bit extreme.

I love the energy and intensity. That clip reminds me of Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy and his "grown man" press conference a couple years back. As we all know Frank isn't exactly the most charismatic of coaches; this hire seems like a good compliment to the staff we already have in place.

Seems to be that GotFrank has charisma in his own way.
