Sorry if this was mentioned already, I may have overlooked it.  Davis is going back home.  Article mentions his mother his battling health issues.

One of the joys of recuriting kids 1,000 miles from home.  Best of luck to the young man.

Wow. Trev Alberts and Nebraska-Omaha drop football.

Wonder where James Davis goes now. The kid can really play.

You beat me to it.  I thought I had just heard that UNO was moving into the Summit League and was droping both football and wrestling.

I think an article I read about this says that the student-athletes involved keep their schollies(assuming he had one).  That is the norm so Davis loses the chance to play football, but may stay there as a free-ride student.   Not the end of the world if that's true.

Edit:they were D-2 so I don't think they give schollies.

I believe Division 2 still does have scholarships.  Division 3 is non scholarship competition.  So it looks as if he will keep his scholarship, or he could transfer and continue playing.  Either way I wish him luck.

DII Football schools can give a maximum of 36 Athletic Grants per year, one thing to note is that Division II scholarships can be divided up amongst many players with the sum of the total aid to not surpass the equivelant of 36.

I was going to post on this, but i couldn't find the thread, and i've been busy. Since they dropped football, I'm pretty sure he could transfer anywhere and not sit out. I have no way of knowing it he'd have any interest in returning to Ohio, but I'm sure he'll find a home somewhere.

No doubt.  Not sure if Ohio would even have a scholarship for another offensive lineman. He could help Iowa State or Nebraska @ Kearney in the area of UNO.
