The breadth and depth of the article was impressive. Generally we don't see those kind of articles about MAC teams, let alone our beloved Alma mater. Thank God for the Hustle Belt. Part of the problem with the MAC has been the revolving door of coaches and their staffs. In some ways, we have been the exception. It will be intersting to see how this all plays out for this year.

Well said.
This year is going to be so interesting. I think Albin will be a little more of a risk taker on gameday than what Solich was. At the same time, I think Albin and all the coaches that stayed on after Solich will keep the heart of the program and processes the same.
I'm interested to see what Tettleton can bring to the party. I think he could prove to be a great hire.

I don't know what TT's coaching ambitions are but if he is wanting to be a head coach someday, Ohio would be a nice starting point for him...

The fact is that Ohio has been in the top three or four of the conference the last ten seasons of Frank's tenure. Throw out last season because of Covid. Prior to that, the Bobcats were tied with NI and Toledo with 27 league wins, with Western at 28 wins in the previous five years. The previous ten seasons Ohio had 51 wins, the third most conference wins behind Northern and Toledo. This program has been consistent and the stability of the coaching staff played an important role in that success. According to USA Today college coaching salaries, Frank was the sixth highest paid MAC coach in 2020. He was behind Toledo, Buffalo, NI, Western and Central's head coaches. I am guessing his coordinators weren't at the higher end of the scale either. The staff Ohio has is experienced and solid.

Good thought....Wonder if they hired TT with an eye toward grooming him for the Ohio HC job someday?

Interesting, but that thought had also crossed my mind.

Seems like the stars a somewhat aligned for this to unfold that way.
Frank retires. Longtime assistant promoted. Brings on the most decorated QB in school history as assistant.
We'll see where this goes...

From the article in the Post today on Tettleton's return:
"Tettleton’s ambitions don’t just stop there. He wants to develop Ohio into a program to be feared. He wants Ohio to become a ranked team."
I like the sound of that. If it's accurate, sounds like TT wants to build on where Frank took us, and implies that he is looking to stay in Athens for a while.
