The Athens City School Board named their football stadium after Joe Burrow tonight. The field will still be called R. Basil Rutter Field. Exciting times in Athens County.

They are also going to change the name of the road the high school sits on.

I get the Scott Riggs comment, what I do not get is the reference? Stadium name is being changed out of honor, not monetary donation.

Amazing there hasn't been a Greta Thunberg type raised in Athens to warrant some name recognition considering the professor population.

Nice to see the naming is based on results and not a price tag.
