Hot take: Central/Western is a better football rivalry than Toledo/BG. I'm glad it's getting the Saturday treatment.

Derek Mason's seat may be getting warm. An 0-4 start would make it a lot warmer.

Buffalo QB is 4 for 13 so far against Fiami. I'm not too worried about that part of their game right now.

No but they ran for over 300 yards today with two guys over 100. Four turnovers too. They will be fired up and ready next Saturday.

Toledo beats BYU today after having beaten Colorado State last weekend. NIU loses in a close one to Vandy. Meanwhile, that powerhouse Delaware goes into the 4th quarter at Pitt up 14-10 but with about 10 minutes to go in the game Pitt goes ahead 17-14 and that is the final score. BTW, Delaware's dbs had no problem covering Pitt's receiving core. At least we did not lose today. I know we did not play either. But hey, why have any expectations in our program? After all it is only year 15 of this regime.

The Bulls will play Ohio very tough and have won every game in NY since 2009. Nothing is automatic. The Bobcats have struggled at Buffalo. Each and every game from early October on will be a huge challenge.

In addition to Buffalo seeking their revenge next week, Toledo looks like they are where they want to be at this point in the season. Their only loss is to an SEC school. Below is a link to a pretty blunt assessment from a Salt Lake City columnist concerning BYU's loss to Toledo. I have no idea where Toledo will end up at the end of he year, but being able to sell to recruits that you hung tough to an SEC team and beat Colorado State and BYU is going to get their attention. The MAC's non-conference opponents and what you do against them is a big selling point. Conversely losing to a MAC team, certainly draws the ire of the opponent's fans, beat writers and the columnists who follow them. Below is one such example.

I attended the BYU-Toledo game and the Rockets were very impressive. It wasn't just their play but every time it looked like this might be it and they might break they pulled together and toughed it out. Thought for sure it was going to OT after the Rocket fumble (And I wouldn't make the Ohio Northern game last night) but for some reason BYU decided to play for the win from their own 30 with less then a minute. INT was a beauty.

I watched most of that one. To make matters worse, BYU's starting QB hurt his thumb tackling the Toledo player and was out for the final minute drive and apparently will miss at least one more game. I think Toledo for sure is the team to beat in the MAC right now. Western Michigan is pretty good. Then there's everybody else, including Ohio.

One other score of interest is that Cincy played Marshall yesterday at the Joan and put a beatdown on the Herd, 52-14.
