According to the Princeton Review,O.U. didn't make the list
of the top 20 party schools.

That's fine with me. I always felt that might have discouraged some students (or their parents) who would have been good for OHIO. I used to tell my students that every school has their parities, if you want them, and you can always avoid them if you want. This comes from the perspective of being a parent to two OHIO students, as well as having gone there myself.

Agreed. I always got razzed a little when sharing where I was going/where I went with the whole party school rep. Most people could see past it, though.

Visited plenty of friends at other campuses (even some "dry" faith-based schools) that had your choice of parties if interested.

My brother in law is a Lehigh grad and there was a year that LU and Ohio were in the top 5 on one of the party school lists. That made for some fun conversation at Thanksgiving dinner.

We still have the rep, although I don't hear about it nearly as much as I used to.

My dad is a Lehigh grad.

He always used to kid me about our party school ranking.

Then Lehigh showed up on the list.

Bet we has similar conversations as you and your brother in law.

I always took ranking as a badge of honor, based not just on drinking but creativity (Halloween, Fests, etc)

That means you're still young. In my day the Skull was the Beach Club.

Sounds like FAKE NEWS to me. If the Princeton Review raised their standards and hired from our j-school they wouldn’t be publishing this kind of propaganda.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Actually, the Princeton Review has no standards. They could raise them ten times and still not have any. 10 X 0 = O. Take a look at their methodology for these rankings. They don't need to hire someone with reporting and writing skills, but someone with expertise in research methods. Our J-school does teach that in its graduate programs! ;-)

This became very obvious to me on my most recent visit (most recent in which classes were in session). I walked around various "party streets" at midnight on a Saturday night with a 15 pack of craft beer and didn't see many parties and certainly wasn't invited in to any.

I even had my own beer!!

The Roaring Twenties was either part of the Skull or next door....now you know how old I am.

Probably a more accurate ranking is from Barstool sports which has at at #13. College kids probably follow this more than the Princeton review anyways.

The main difference I'm noticing is the off campus party scene doesn't seem to be as "bro" as it was in the 90's or 00's. The kids don't take their partying as a serious thing that has to be wild anymore.
