So many juicy posts to pick from, I couldn't narrow my favorite down to just one. Here are my top picks:
Poster 1: They say the team is a reflection of their coach. Well, this coach is dead. No emotion. Not anything.
Poster 2: San Diego fans accept mediocrity and are thankful we aren’t as bad as we once were.
Poster 3: It’s wishful thinking to expect Rocky to suddenly want to modernize his philosophy. It just will not happen, nor do I believe his stubborn loyalty to his coaching staff will result in many changes their either.
Poster 4: I can't remember an Aztec football season where the team came out of the gate 6-1, beating a name opponent, and generally looking really good - only to collapse and go 1-5 the rest of the way, including an embarrassing shutout loss to end the season.
This was every bit as bad as many of us had feared after they started flailing after 6-1. This was a disastrous collapse. A season that looked to be great, what seemed like a lock for another 10 win season, turned into utter garbage during the 2nd half of the season.
The 2nd half of this season was every bit as bad as the Chuck Long era. Let that sink in - the 2nd half of this season was as bad as the Chuck Long era.
Something has to change. Now.
New OC, new O-Line coach, new QB coach, and Rocky needs more help on the defense. That's what this program needs right now.
But I can't remember a collapse this bad in modern Aztec football history (Coryell to present). Can you?
It might be an interesting to do a little exercise in which BA posters are matched with their Aztec counterparts. Just for fun, I'll start off and say #4 reminds me a little of my buddy bshot44. See any other matches? Again, I'm not doing this in a mean-spirited way. Just having a little fun. If you can't laugh at yourself, you've got no sense of humor at all.
Edit: I didn't see anyone making references to the Late Rebellion, so I didn't find my own counterpart.
