I'll be there Saturday.

If other BAers happen to be attending, shoot me a PM and swing by my tailgate.

Hooooahhhh

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

Hopefully I'm not stepping into it ( :) ) but is it okay to root for both teams?

This has to be one of the most underrated games in any year. The pageantry, the effort, the mutual respect between both teams is something I really admire and enjoy watching. Really inspirational, at least to me.

If you've never attended the game you are missing out. Easily the greatest sporting event in the United States.

Yes, you can root for both teams. I do. I just want a nailbiter. My dad was a Marine, my older brothers Navy, I was Army. My father-in-law was Army Air Corps as was his brother. One of my brothers-in-law was Navy, two others were Army and still another was Air Force.

Couldn't agree more.

Really looking forward to the 2021 game at Metlife.

Earlier this year in San Diego, I visited the USS Midway. At one end of the hangar deck is a gift shop. For a Christmas stocking stuffer for my daughter Andrea (OU '94) I bought a shot glass. On one side is the Midway logo. On the reverse: There's nothing like the smell of jet fuel in the morning.

I am correctly recalling WWII history, The Big Red 1 fought first in North Africa, then Sicily, Italy and Western Europe. A 1980s movie titled The Big Red One tracked the division's exploits.

Like my brother Mark, I root for both teams. If you haven’t viewed it, The Big Red One is a fantastic movie.

The Big Red 1 also had a major contribution in Vietnam which I heard many times from my army uncles. On days like this even old Air Force vets like my dad won't miss a snap. Traditional events like today's game make college football the special sport that it is; the pageantry, the dignitaries in attendance and the history of this game dating back to 1890 bring many different groups together in national unity.

oldkatz and the rest of the Army grunts on this board: Congratulations on a hard-earned win today. And, as an added bonus this year, you beat Miami in 2OTs on an unforced coaching error. So, not only did you win the Commander-in-Chief Trophy this year, but you helped proved once again that Miami sucks. What a great Two-Fer! A tip of this swabbie cap to the cadets of USMA! USA! USA! USA!
