Who'd a thought that EMU would be bowl eligible before Toledo?

Here's the rundown of the teams that are bowl eligible (64), that are a win away (22), and that are out of the running (31). Notre Dame has a tie-in with the ACC, so it's counted there. Hawaii plays 13 games, so it has to win seven to be bowl eligible. Except for Akron all the four-win teams need to win out to be bowl eligible (Virginia Tech and Southern Miss play only 11 games. Liberty is in a transition year and may need NCAA approval to play in a bowl.

Here are the remaining schedules for the teams that are a win away from bowl eligibility. At least two will get in -- the TxTech/Baylor and Purdue/Indiana winners. Tulane, SMU, Toledo, Hawaii, USC, SoCar, Coastal, Louisiana, and BYU all will likely get in because they have at least one team with a really poor record or a 1AA opponent (SoCar) left. Added to the 64 teams already in, these 11 would bring the likely total to 75. This means in all likelihood there will be more eligible teams than the 78 needed to fill all the slots. This also means that MAC teams will likely need more than six wins (or even seven) to get into a bowl that the MAC doesn't have a tie-in for.

Tulane: at Houston (7-3), vs Navy (2-8)
SMU: vs Memphis (6-4), at Tulsa (2-8)
Wake: vs Pitt (6-4), at Duke (7-3)
MiamiF: at VaTech (4-5), vs Pitt (6-4)
Baylor: vs TCU (4-6), at TxTech (5-5)
TxTech: at KState (4-6), vs Baylor (5-5)
OklaSt: vs WVU (8-1), at TCU (4-6)
MD: vs O$U (9-1), at PSU (7-3)
Ind: at Mich (9-1), vs Purdue (5-5)
Purdue: vs Wis (6-4), at Ind (5-5)
Minn: vs NWern (6-4), at Wis (6-4)
FAU: at NTex (7-3), vs Charlotte (4-6)
Toledo: at Kent (2-8), vs CMU (1-10)
Hawaii: vs UtahSt (9-1), vs UNLV (3-7)
Ariz: at WSU (9-1), vs ArizSt (6-4)
USC: at UCLA (2-8), vs ND (10-0)
Colo: vs Utah (7-3), at Cal (6-4)
SoCar: vs Chattanooga (6-4), at Clemson (10-0), vs Akron (4-5)
Tenn: vs Mizzou (6-4), at Vandy (4-6)
Coastal: vs GaSo (7-3), at SBama (2-8)
Louisiana: vs SBama (2-8), at ULM (6-4)
BYU: vs NMSU (3-7), at Utah (7-3)

And to complete the picture here are the remaining schedules for the four-win teams. They have to win out to be bowl eligible. The winner of this week's AFA-Wyoming game has a good chance of making it to a bowl.

VaTech: vs MiamiF (5-5), vs UVA (7-3)
FSU: vs BC (7-3), vs Fla (7-3)
TCU: at Baylor (5-5), vs OklaSt (5-5)
KState: vs TxTech (5-5), at ISU (6-3)
Ill: vs Iowa (6-4), at NWern (6-4)
Charlotte: vs FIU (7-3), at FAU (5-5)
SMiss: vs LaTech (7-3), at UTEP (1-9)
Fiami: at NIU (7-3), vs BSU (3-7)
Akron: vs BG (2-8), at Ohio (6-4), at SoCar (5-4)
Wyo: vs Air Force (4-6), at NM (3-7)
Air Force: at Wyo (4-6), vs CSU (3-7)
Vandy: vs Ole Miss (5-5), vs Tenn (5-5)
Liberty: at Auburn (6-4), vs NMSU (3-7), vs Norfolk St (4-5)
