I was a freshman at the Utah State game .... when the student section sat behind the opposing bench. After Utah State kicked a field goal, the Aggies never again threatened to score. Meanwhile...Our Benny King scooped up a fumble and returned it for a TD. Oops, not so fast. An official ruled that when scooping the fumble one of Benny's knees had brushed the grass.
