Message Not Read  Buy tickets or no?

I decided not renew season tickets this season due to my Saturday fall schedule and the team's home schedule. I coach my son's fall baseball team and we play a doubleheader every Saturday. Because of this I won't make it to Athens this Saturday until halftime, if not later. I wouldn't even make the 90-minute drive down if not for this being Parents' Weekend and I have a daughter who is a sophomore. So, my dilemma is should I pay over $50 for tickets for myself and my son if we'll miss at least the first half (I'll be entering while most are leaving following the 110's halftime show).

Is there a time in the game when a fan can just walk into Peden without a ticket? Or will an OU officer with a Howitzer demand a ticket well past the game's final play?

I came down solo for the Howard game and was able to find a $6 ticket on stubhub. Lowest price on stubhub for UMass is $27.75.

Prices will get cheaper on secondary. Plus face value is 25 from the box office.

Not only that, won't even be close to a sellout

I have to say, you gave me a good chuckle with the "OU officer with a Howitzer" comment. :)

Isn't it parents weekend? Should be a decent quiet crowd, but nothing quite like if we had held on to win the mother forgetting game from saturday.

If the university paid you $1 to use a ticket, BSquared would be on here whining about wanting $2 on the secondary market. Believe me, I've seen this behavior since autumn 1979.

Almost as bad as one of our premier Bball forum participants.

I have 2 tickets and a green lot pass for sale or for free or next to nothing if you promise never to say anything political on bobcat attack. Just pm me.

They’re gone to a good home🏈

What does Ohio Athletics define as a sellout? I've seen past numbers from a few games above 25k.

Thanks for the offer Alan.

I thought SBH, who like yourself has an Akron schools' education, had better reading comprehension. Might be because he returned to live in Akron post-college graduation while you've lived in Athens the past several decades.

What SBH fails to comprehend is that I've been a season ticket holder up until this year (reasons given in the original post) and that I don't mind buying single-game tickets (also mentioned above). I'm just not sure I want to purchase tickets when my son and I might miss the first 3 quarters of the game.

It's gonna be close. Announced is going to be 20,500 I bet and actual will be closer to 17500.

Go look at the season ticket availability and then look at the single game as well. Not looking good overall for Saturday.

In the mind of the athletic department anything over 23,500 is for all intents and purposes a sellout. There are only 21,800 seats in the stadium not counting SRO so 21,500+ is for all intents a sell out.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

Like I said, go look at the seasons available and the single game tickets. The whole visiting team corner is available outside of one section. Right there alone is about 1800 seats and then 101 and 108 are fully available. And this doesn't even cover the GA side. Walk-up will be solid, but it won't even be close to filling.

Thanks B to C. But I'm wondering if the ticket window is even open in the 3rd quarter.

I’m guessing there are hundreds of folks like me who buy season tickets and can only go to a few games.
Having said that, I have 2 tickets in section 106 available for Ball State and Akron. With green lot pass which may be worth more than the tickets. Anyway pm me if interested. Very cheap.

Turns out the announced attendance was only 19k

From what I heard actual people scanned in was under 15k......not good

It looked like 18k to me. Certainly not under 15k...not even close.

Definitely low for a family weekend, though. Probably 3/4 full or slightly less if I had to guess.

It wasn't under 15000. I think SBH is about right. Announced figures are much closer to butts in seats since we dont have Family Packs any more to increase the paid figure. It was a good crowd.

My numbers came from insiders. May have had comps counted but again, it wasnt even close to a sellout

Geez, if only we had a 40K-seat domed stadium. Seemed like a great atmosphere. Enjoyable, if sometimes frustrating, afternoon. Students even stayed longer than normal. That is, unless your insiders have other insight.

That number came from the athletic department. 19K is announced. Those numbers take everyone in the stadium as well. In addition how many seats do you think were comped? If I need to provide my credentials again on here be my guest to ask me, but when Im getting numbers from the sales dept combined with actually reading the seats available, the math doesn’t add up. Just forewarning you when the bean counter has his ways with that department.
