Beyond the shock of brushing up against a 22-year-old Athens cop proudly brandishing his assault rifle near the main gate, I've got some gripes about the overall fan experience at Peden on Saturday:

1. We've got to find someone who can operate the scoreboard to its full capability. I believe I saw three attempts at video replays, but only one was successful. They need to replay every significant play...and do it on a full screen rather than relegating it to the smaller frame they're currently using. I'm sure that's simply a case of a single click on the software interface. Maybe they lost the owner's manual?

As it now stands, we're just one step ahead of the "GOGOGOGOGO" messages of the previous scoreboard. I hope we don't have the same sub-par experience in the Convo.

2. Event-host/live promotions girl. I get that she's a student. I just hope her parents were in the stands Saturday and offered some constructive criticism as they enjoyed a post-game meal at China King. Something along the lines of, "Geez, honey, you were terrible. Really irritating. Have you thought about going into nursing instead?"

At the very least, someone please turn down her volume and add some bass to her audio. It was just painful.

3. Why do the concession stands close at the end of the third quarter? It was hot as Hell and they could have sold hundreds of additional beverages simply by staying open another 10 minutes. Seems like a really easy change but I've been complaining about this for years.

4. When you post scores of other games, let us know the time left in each game. So fundamental. Perhaps they don't cover this stuff until students advance into our world-best Sports Ad school.

I'll add one thing of note for my group, that is also unchanged over the last couple years:

With all of the tailgating lots we have now that are truly being well used, would it kill them to add say 3-4 porta-john's in a few of these lots?

Plus side on the fan experience deal: I think the use of the new plaza area beneath the Sook Center is pretty darn good. I spent much of 1Q just hanging out there.

Last thought on the fan experience: They really ought to be asking for feedback on this stuff during the season. Why not take the opportunity to learn from fans make simple improvements mid-season?

I know the Giants sent out an email survey to season ticket holders whose tickets were "scanned" after every game.

I don't know if they did the same for people who bought tickets on NFL ticket Exchange.

Agree with everything SBH states. My favorite was the screeching discussion of the dance contest....during live play.

Kind of on point is my shock at the GA side of Peden where the 110 is housed. I too broke down and bought the GA package for this season after having not renewed my normal season tickets on the Tower side of Peden. Therefore, it had been years/decades since I had actually been on the GA side of Peden. As I entered that side of the stadium I was shocked at the condition of the stadium underneath the stands. In a word, that side of the stadium needs to be leveled and rebuilt immediately. It would be nice if in that process they added a second deck and not just do some quick fix. That side of the stadium is an embarrassment to the Program and the University. Hopefully we have done something with the visitors' locker room.

My suggestion would be to send an email directly to Schaus on the "mc." I have sent him emails in the past (most recent was the Convo volume) and in some cases, have actually seen changes. He doesn't like criticism or controversy so when he hears it directly he takes it seriously.

This is the best suggestion and if enough people here actually do that, we may see some of those changes happen. Squeaky wheels do actually get the grease sometimes.

There we go, 2nd deck with amenities and an increase to 35k

It is amazing that in all these years we haven't come up with 50k or so for paint and lighting to improve on the barnyard appearance beneath the student stands.

My crazy idea for that side is to take out half the seats and put in stand-up drink rails.

Was year two of beer sales running more efficient I hope? I assume the new areas by Sook are going to help with concessions.

Not harsh enough.

If the volume had been turned down from an 11 she might have been somewhat bearable.

Agreed. Worst part of my experience at the game by far. Every time she spoke was beyond irritating. I would rather stare at my shoes and listen to static.

How about a night game on labor day weekend when it is 90 degrees outside.

Four big upgrades I see.

New and much larger entrance gates to the stadium. I didn't see the bottlenecks trying to enter the stadium of past seasons. Also more space to meet up with friends inside the stadium, take a cellphone call ect.

Team shop isn't that much more exciting than before but sitting under Sook it opens up space under the corner bleachers. Before fan would enter through the bottle neck of the tower then be squeezed by the team shop.

The plaza gives fans another way to view the game than just from the seats like victory hill. You can get right on top of the action when the team is in the red zone. Its going to be nice for a maction game when its too cold to sit in one place on a bench.

The circus tent look with the camera man on a vertical lift look is gone. Camera guys are on top of Sook now. It felt like you were under observation if you tried to move from the tower to the GA side before. Now its more of a total stadium feel to it. I thought Sook might look small from the Hill but it didn't to my surprise.

I think the GA side looks a lot better with the IPF behind it from inside the stadium than it did before. If there is going to be another investment into the stadium I would make it with videoboards and ribbon boards that can bring in advertising revenue. Wrap the GA side in an outer façade to look bigger. A party deck at the top of the student side with bumped up bathrooms and concessions below. Add some shade to the stadium and space for videoboards.

Man what wussies on the heat, tomorrow Geogia at South Carolina 3:30 kickoff and the highs the last 6 days were 96,96,96,95,94 and 97 and it peaks at 4:00 to 5:00. Point is hundreds of games in the south are a lot higher temps.

The GA side was in poor condition for livestock 20 years ago. But, that’s where the only drinking fountain is.

Hmmm - I don't think I ever drank something that was non-alcoholic in Peden. :)
