A year ago it was my distinct honor to accept this posthumous degree on behalf of Jeff's brother Don who was in Covid quarantine. Jeff was the sports editor of The Parthenon, the Marshall student newspaper, of which I was co-advisor in 1970.  I have raised a scholarship in his memory, which currently has over $26,000 in the endowment.  Our goal is to get it to $30,000.  If you care to donate, you may send contributions to:

The Marshall University Foundation
519 John Marshall Drive
Huntington, WV 25703
Please make the check payable to The Marshall University Foundation and specify that your donation is to go to the Jeff Nathan Sportswriting Scholarship.

If the Marshall University Foundation is a 501-c-3, I need a contact name at the foundation as that is needed for me to donate from my IRA acct - which I prefer doing for tax reasons.

I remember this day.
I was a student and went to Peden on the Saturday after the crash to commemorate the day, as it was to be game day against Marshall.
