2022/2023 BOWL GAMES

MAC Bowl Tie-Ins, Affiliations:

The top-ranked MAC champion will be in the mix for the Cotton Bowl if it�s the highest-ranked Group of Five champ � and if it�s not in the College Football Playoff.

The MAC doesn�t have a true pecking order. The bowls matchups are based on best possible games and geography.

� Bahamas Bowl vs Conference USA (Dec 16)
� Camellia Bowl vs American Athletic or Sun Belt (Dec. 27)
� Famous Idaho Potato Bowl vs Mountain West (Dec. 20)
� LendingTree Bowl vs Sun Belt (Dec. 17)
� Barstool Arizona Bowl vs Mountain West (Dec. 30)
� Quick Lane Bowl vs Big Ten (Dec. 26)

To be determined among the Group of Five conferences. MAC will get spots in two of these bowls �

� Cure Bowl vs Group of Five or Army (Dec. 16)
� Myrtle Beach Bowl vs American Athletic or Sun Belt (Dec. 19)
� New Mexico Bowl vs Conference USA (Dec. 17)

Just saw this on Instagram. Comment section is full of Cardinals.

Interesting game. BSU balanced vs decent Miami defense with better passing game.

I think Fiami wins 21-20. They have a decent kicker.

There are other G5 bowls available to the MAC but the conference will not have enough eligible schools this season to be considered for them.

To possibly open up a spot for Quick Lane we need:

Georgia to beat Georgia Tech
PITT to beat Miami
Penn State to beat Michigan State

All of them would be 5-7.

And Clemson to beat South Carolina to possibly not drop to a lower bowl game.

Very doable.

Not sure about this year, but in past years bowl paydays can be much lower than the headline number when the top-line conference has to sub out for a lower tier team.
