Running a speed option to the short side of the field is such a waste of a play. This is the second week in a row we’ve done that.

Albin explained in a video on the offense this year why he likes that play. There is one WR to make one block on the short side for a long gain, whereas on the long side, there are 2-3 WR, all of who must make their blocks.

You also have to have numbers on the edge, we did not have that a couple times.

That half-time speech must've been wild.

Tim earned that extension tonight.

I didn’t catch the first half stats, but they have 219 yards rushing. Most of that had to have come in the 2nd. Toledo doesn’t have 200 total.

He may have won MAC Coach of the Year in the second half. Just don't choke vs BSU.

We are about to surpass Buffalo's exact gameplan of 50+ rushes for 230. Albin definitely studied the right team that had success against them.

On another note, I would like to see some backups get a few snaps with less than 2 minutes left. No need for big injuries right now this late in the game.

Let's hope he is still OUr coach next year. Win or lose next week, and I believe we'll win but I suspect we'll be without Owen, at least 8 wins with what happened in the portal is one heck of a coaching job.

I totally agree. That was an impressive half of football. Next up, Ball State. They have been a good team this year, and have given everyone trouble.

The defense kept them in this game, then the defense brought the hammer and blew up the Rockets. Offense wasn't great, but they got rolling with great field position the entire second half. 42 to 18 in time with the ball. Total domination.

am i off base in thinking that's one of the program's biggest wins ever? only our second win in Toledo in, what, 50 years? and against a Toledo team that's its usual strength, and to stay alive for the MACC, a week to Thanksgiving?

outside of milestones like the 2011 Potato Bowl I'm trying to think of a bigger and more meaningful win than this, in a long time.

This is not going to be ‘a-gimmie’. Chances are that this team will be coming in here to “win one for the gipper”, so to speak. Ohio will need to come ready to play. It’s good to play a team that’s fired up. If they win this one they can head to Detroit with a lotta confidence. With a strong effort this might shape up to be a magical year. I just love this team. Such guts!

Totally agree. We can't take the Cardinals for granted and have to come ready to play. It's good to have the game be in Athens though.

I don’t have anything personally against him but as soon as we aren’t picking up yards on the ground, we sputter. He’s a scrambler so we’re kinda one dimensional. He just hasn’t shown me enough that he can throw accurately and make good decisions in the passing game. Running wise, he’s one of the best in the NCAA

If BG beats Ball State, we have to beat Ball State to make the title game. I think. In any multi-team tiebreak scenario, we lose out to Miami, Buffalo and (if they win) BG who would all have wins over Ball State. The common opponent is the first tiebreak if all the teams haven't played each other.

It’s a little screwy, but Miami is in a must win situation against BG, too. If they lose and get in any sort of a two or three-way tie with Buffalo, then Buffalo advances with wins v Ball and Toledo, while Miami would be 1-1 against those two. (As would we). The only tiebreaker I can see us winning is a two-way tie for second with Buffalo. That would mean BG losing to Ball and Miami. We would advance on head-to-head.

We really just need to beat Ball.
