As has been posted here numerous times, JC seems adverse to responding to emails and voice mails.

Communication doesn't seem to be one of her stronger attributes.

So, in my opinion ,the odds of her interviewing graduating team members after last season, seems pretty remote.

I've spent way too much time in my life reading this board, and the percentage of posters whose opinion warrants a response from Julie Cromer seems very, very small to me.

If she replied to every nut job on this board who emailed her, it would be a bad sign about her priorities.

Well, I’m sure you consider me a “nut job” of the first water, and the previous AD answered all my emails.

I'm sure BLSOS considers me a "nut job" too.

But, not only did Mr. Schaus answer all me Emails, he actually called me a couple of times too.

Same thing, President McDavis also answered all my emails.

As far as JC, if she doesn't have ,or can't find the time to personally respond to emails and voice mails, she has a staff that can.

Even a "stock" "thank-you . . " is something.

I did not have that experience with McDavis, but I did with Glidden. In fact, Bob and I still exchange emails. One nice thing about Bob when he was president is that he valued input from everyone from BA nut jobs to the Cutler janitor to the dean of the engineering and medical schools. IMHO, that made him a much better president than he would otherwise have been.

I, for one, am shocked that you and OCF have found something to complain about regarding your alma mater and have decided that you all were the focus of my joke.

You all never seem inclined to play victim or complain about OU administrators. This is very surprising.

favorite Glidden memory. He phones me. Asks if I will serve as his proxy at inauguration of Mt. Union's new president. Says if I will he will mail me a cap and gown and leather-bound certificate to present to the new prez.

I ask, jokingly, "Are you asking me out of respect or because I live only 20 miles from Mt. Union?"

Slight pause and he responds, "Both."

We both laugh.

Favorite memory while there: At one point in the proceedings college presidents and proxies are directed to a spot on campus to line up for an academic procession. We speculate on how they will arrange us. The answer: By the age of our respective colleges. 106 colleges were represented. Harvard was there so of course they led the procession. Ohio was 6th.

OK, the FAU game is over, and I will say we looked better than last year, and that in spurts in the second and third quarters especially, we looked very good on both sides of the ball. We did make a few bonehead plays, like not letting that kickoff toward the end of the game bounce into the end zone. However, we came up big at end and pulled the thing out.

K. Rourke had a great day passing . . . with a number of very crisp well-timed passes. Sieh Bangura looked very good at RB. If we make the kind of improvement that's possible between game 1 and game 2, I think we could be very good this year.

I was very impressed with that transfer dude from O$U -- speedy, good hands, good vision and execution. I think Sam Wiglusz is going to win some games for us, even though he almost cost us this game with the aforementioned bonehead play. (I would like to see a replay of that, but I don't think the FAU players were close enough to recover the ball before it bounced into the end zone. If they were, then it wasn't a bonehead play.)

When I got home from the game I had an email in my inbox (timestamped before the FAU game started) from a former member of this board telling me that he's smarter than I and that he doesn't have to wait until after this game to say that at best we will have four wins, and that his "gut" tells him we'll have two wins. He also told me that as one trained in journalism I should be more objective in analyzing the Bobcats. Partly to further irritate him, and partly because I'm in an optimistic mood after this win, here's my upbeat prediction for the rest of the reason

Sept. 3 FLORIDA ATLANTIC W (no credit for this one)
Sept. 10 at Penn State L
Sept. 17 at Iowa State W
Sept. 24 FORDHAM W
Oct. 1 at Kent State W
Oct. 8 AKRON W
Oct. 15 at Western Michigan L
Oct. 22 NORTHERN ILLINOIS W
Oct. 29 BYE
Nov. 1 BUFFALO W
Nov. 8 at Miami W
Nov. 15 at Ball State W
Nov. 22 BOWLING GREEN W

10-2 (7-1)

=======================================
This poster, who most old time regulars will easily figure out the identity of, also added as a "bonus" that Nathan Rourke would never make the NFL, saying that he doesn't have the "arm or ability under pressure" to make plays in the NFL. Time will tell on this prediction, but this same sage once told me that Tarell Basham would never "sniff the NFL." This poster is a legend in his own mind.

I know this is cheating, but this is how I see it after game 1

Sept. 3 FLORIDA ATLANTIC W
Sept. 10 at Penn State L
Sept. 17 at Iowa State L
Sept. 24 FORDHAM W
Oct. 1 at Kent State L
Oct. 8 AKRON W
Oct. 15 at Western Michigan L
Oct. 22 NORTHERN ILLINOIS W
Oct. 29 BYE
Nov. 1 BUFFALO W
Nov. 8 at Miami L
Nov. 15 at Ball State W
Nov. 22 BOWLING GREEN W

Record 7-5

I'm not picking the bowl game because who know who it is against. This season can go many directions since I feel the depth in some areas is thin, the defense is a huge question mark and KRourke has been fragile. Keeping Bangura and Rourke healthy is a must. I've always like Rourke's arm and it seems like the passing game is clicking without any new game breakers. In my mind this could go from 4-8 to a 9-5 based on injuries and luck.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm actually reducing my W-L prediction after last night. 5 wins max. Too thin at RB, a secondary other QBs will feast on. Special teams disasters. Sheesh.

Well, since I was the guy who put up 2-10 my assessment has to go up. I still have to favor Ohio against Fordham and Akron. But like I said those were the only two game I had us as the favorite but with a schedule full of games where I had us as a slight underdog we were bound to get a couple upsets and finish with 4 or 5 wins. While I am not totally with you, they played better yesterday than I thought we would, I am still not fantastically more optimistic than I was Friday morning. There's the RB issue you mentioned. And, yes, without the botched last 10 minutes on we could have won easily but those mistakes happened. To me, it felt like we might get blown out until the refs missed a PI on us on a deep FAU pass around the end of Q1 or the start of Q2 that seemed to totally change the game. It felt to me that we got an FAU team in OUr house and were quite lucky to get a W.......but a W we did get and that's not the outcome I expected so on a positive ending to this post we are one of a very small handful of teams that has an FBS win over a team with an FBS win. The list is Indiana, Nevada, Southern Methodist, Alabama and Ohio. That's it.

This is the SBH we've all come to know.

I thought he was getting soft as he nears retirement age, what with defending TA and the entire football program over the past couple of weeks leading up to the 2022 season.

Only 3 of us predicted a home win against FAU? Wow.

Don't give me too much credit for optimism, I only predicted 4 wins and an 0-6 road record.

I think I’ll wait and see how it all plays out. That’s why they play the games.

A question for all you prognosticators and Nostradamus doppelgängers: with the availability to make wagers on these games, are you backing up your predictions with coin of the realm?

Ahhh the classic "you guys are lame for taking a best guess at future unknown results" post.

I don't gamble mostly because I understand how completely unpredictable sports are and how often I think one thing and the exact opposite happens. That's why I enjoy a friendly game of pick 'em among friends. I enjoy seeing others level of confidence, which games have the least amount of optimism, etc. It's the kind of thing one would expect when they choose to navigate to a message board.

I agree. This is prime message board stuff!

As far as the bonehead play on the goal line, I was in the end zone Sook center and actually thought that the ball bounced back towards the field and was not going to bounce into the end zone so the returner had to cover it or FAU would have. I may not have seen it right, so I’d like to see a slow motion replay to actually see what happened.

Thanks for that perspective. I had poor angle on it myself.

I agree. I do not blame the returner for picking up the ball, in fact it may have saved us from giving up 6 there. I know the coaching staff was protecting against an onside kick but you gotta have 1 guy back there to prevent the scenario that happened.

In just a simple search of this site, you've gone to this 'joke' at least four other times on this message board. The comment itself says nothing, but I'm imagining you once heard this and found it funny. I'd say that day has passed.
