Usually coaches say in transfer meetings that "you can't go in conference and to a rival." Guess Marshall isn't a rival like it use to be.

While we are on that subject, that game needs to be scheduled before or after the Miami game every year. Imagine 2 home games back to back in Athens. Business would be nice those two weekends!

I second that motion!

That old rule went out the door! Schools cannot restrict movement anymore with the portal.

Withdrew his name from portal and is staying at JSU. Very surprised Deion isn't taking his top WR threat (8TDs) at 6'5" 200 now.

Not exactly transfer news but it looks like Jack McCrory is done with football. I assume he had a COVID year left?

QB Kadin Beler enters the portal.

Certainly makes sense with Kurtis, CJ, Parker Navarro, Callum Wither and the incoming freshman Jacob Winters all likely on the roster. Time will tell if we lose another.

Their roster says he has two years of eligibility. Talk about a super super super senior

He gained the extra year by transferring to a P5 conference. Would have had only 1 year of eligibility left if he had stayed in the MAC.

Why is that? I’ve never heard that rule before. Or did you just make that up?

Looks like we just offered a grad transfer WR from Delaware Brett Buckman. Finished the 2022 season with 39 catches for 470 yards, and one touchdown.

Slightly confused why we are still offering WRs. Hopefully that's not a sign of others entering the transfer portal.

That's what he would have on a normal calendar setting. However, he was not on a normal calendar.

Just looking at the roster, the odds are that Isiah Davis and Aramoni Rhone are the next guys up to replace James Bostic (who hopefully gets drafted here in a few weeks). Maybe one of those guys is moving on. Also, and I could be wrong, but Tim might be thinking to build on our strength. With Kurtis coming back and Sam Wigz and Miles Cross and Jacoby Jones plus how talented as receivers Foster and Kacmarek are, this team is built to throw the ball more than it ever was under Frank. I could see Tim wanting to stockpile more guys at receiver. Better to be the best at one thing than average at everything.

Also still in the market for another DE

We offered Auburn LB/DE Powell Gordon, and Kwame Sutton (Austin Peay).

Let’s get either or both.

Auburn had Gordon at ILB and he’s a natural pass rushing DE.

They are plus eight in scholarships right now. They have eight spots they can use on late HS adds or Portal kids. One goal is to address the Jack LB spot McCrory played so well last season.

Either of the above mentioned 2 could help fill that hole.

Seems like every year the NFL free agency is all OL, DL, and WR. Looks like the CFB transfer portal is following the same pattern!

Is the cut-off for portal entries this Sunday?

I had a couple fears the first go-around;

1) Bangura (I'm still scared, but less scared - bc he's too good of a player to risk fighting for time at Maryland in camp after spring ball. Also, Ricky Hunt has looked good)
2) Wigs (Every time he's had a chance to talk he says he never considered leaving)
3) Jacoby (They're both gonna go for 1,000 :) )
4) CJ (Kurtis is probably TOO FAR ahead of schedule, and Winters also looked good - so maybe not a "fear")
5) Anybody on D

Bangura recovering from a surgically repaired shoulder. Maybe next year.

What many Bobcat fans do not realize is that these current players love Coach Albin. They truly enjoy playing for this guy and there was a reason Coach Solich suggested Coach Albin replace him. Not saying that Ohio won't lose players to the portal, but Coach Albin and his staff have done a good job keeping most current players.

What players we have lost have all centered around money for NIL.

The portal closed yesterday, I believe. There were concerns we could still lose a couple of players. Anyone know?

Per the recruiting forum, Ohio did add a couple of players form the portal:
Dane Jackson, an OL from NTSU:

Kaci Seegars, a LB/Edge from Liberty:
