I think he's been a solid backup PG so far. Was he injured or something? Maybe Boals initial plan was to experiment with James as a backup PG. Doesn’t explain why Sheldon didn’t play after the fact but that’s all I got. And I noticed Elmore was bringing the ball up in one of the few possessions before he got tossed. I also think based on D play/deflections of the upperclassmen per both Sheldon & Hadaway - as well as BSU length across their lineup per Sheldon. Everybody understood this would eventually be the case re: shortened bench. But with an entirely new and inexperienced roster it's worth the time to maximize combinations and data points to enable informed decisions later. Boals did it right.
