The whiners are the fans who can't except the betrayal by their local hero who got the hell out of there as fast as he could lol.

whiner comment aside, your response seems awfully presumptuous.

and completely wrong.

If there was ever a day where a legitimate source said anything about this kid transferring to Ohio, then he becomes relevant on this site. Let's have a long thread on the recruiting forum. Until that day, not relevant. he's a buckeye, don't give a sh**. I don't wish him ill will, I just don't care. I'm here to talk OHIO. I get enough buckeye s**t in may day to day life living around this cult.

I know there are some OSU insiders who expect LSU to be in play big time. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.....

Here is a good video. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/ohio-states-quarterback-comp...

And yet another column from Rob Oller (2 in 3 days), this one laying out possible scenarios for Burrow:

As much as these coaches are around these kids and as much film and on the field evaluation that they do, you'd think they would have all of the information that they'd need to make a decision.

they want to keep all three. They will try to push it into the fall. Burrow is a great dual threat guy that can make every throw. Haskins has the gun to throw in tight windows. They should go with Burrow in my opinion.

Meyer will try to keep all three. As he has stated over and over, his first interest is the team. The best way to help the team is to keep Haskins and Burrow in the fold. If he tells Burrow that Haskins is wining/won the job - Burrow leaves. The only way he can hold onto both is to tell Burrow (as of now) the job is his...but that Haskins and he will continue to battle....for the good of the team.

The issue for Burrow then comes down to if Meyer can be trusted...

Its funny how depressed I am that Simmons ditched the OHIO basketball program but adamant I am that Burrow needs to get the heck out of TOSU and go somewhere he can play. Too bad he couldn't graduate at the end of Fall Semsester 2017 and get in a Spring practice with a school that views him as a starter and not the "safety net" back up.

Two takeaways from this thread:

1. For a topic some think we should not care about, we're at 2 pages already.

2. There seems to be some volunteers on this board who would like to be moderators to decide on what we should or shouldn't be reading about.

Probably the same people promoting the university speech policy.

The new policy is going to be just fine. Heck, the first version of it was OK as well, and even got the "green light" from FIRE (http://www.thefire.org /)
who has successfully sued Ohio University in the past on free speech. https://www.thefire.org/fire_speech-codes/ohio-u-free-exp... /
One interesting thing about OU in my couple of decades around here is how the university administration often goes about its business quietly and calmly and unemotionally and the vast majority of the time correctly.

Anyway, back to Burrow. I'm kind of surprised this is taking so long....

Obviously not in the room during their conversations, but I wouldn't be surprised if the trust is already starting to dwindle. What else could Joe possibly do to win the job? Is there anything left for him to prove? At some point its going to be too little too late to transfer.

Nebraska seems more and more like a no brainer in my opinion. He would start right away (supposedly) for 2 years and still remain in the big 10. Thinking the scarlet/gray kool aid is holding him back from cutting the cord and making the best decision for a potential pro career.

Even if he wins the job at Ohio state, he will be on a short leash. Not an ideal working environment.

We have two fine QBs ( NATHAN ROURKE and QUINTON MAXWELL ) and I wish them the very best. Hoping that one of them or both will lead the CATS to a great year.
Believe we're in good hands and will do great with either one.

I'm with Deciduous F Cat- I don't wish any ill will or bad luck to Burrows. But, he made his decision to go to Columbus. Let him stay there or go someplace else - NOT OU (maybe Michicken). We don't need a guy for a one year deal.

It's not that I want him to transfer to OU, again it was a story of local interest in Southeast Ohio.

With Rourke, we're gonna be fine.

Yeah you're right. I would like to read about Ohio Bobcats on the Bobcat fan site. I hate Ohio State and everything they stand for. So I don't think it's unreasonable to ask you to discuss your love of a particular State player somewhere else. Maybe the local classifieds. I think it's funny that those of us loyal to the athletes who chose to come to Ohio are somehow in the wrong. And those of you who can't stop talking about an athlete who rejected Ohio for a different school are "justified" because he was your only local celebrity.

LOL. Chill out brother! I assume every college fan board in the world would have posts about the potential landing spot of the local 4-star level hero high school QB who is the son of the long-time defensive coordinator of their school. I'm fairly anti TOSU. But this one seems to fit on here.

Local classifieds, lol. You would have a point if we never recruited Burrow and if we would not recruit him if he became available. A lot of us believed that Ohio was the best option for him. There are about five long Burrow threads and you never said anything of this sort. Are we really supposed to take your opinion about the local classifieds seriously.

You are 100% correct. This thread is completely misplaced. It needs to be moved to the bottom of the "Football Recruiting" page with the Matthew Burrell thread -- below all those that have committed to Ohio. If he were to sign with us (of which there is zero chance), then the thread can be moved above the fold on that page (but right now JOE MISCHLER is the more important and relevant JOE to us).

I'll support your view to the Mods that this thread is a recruiting thread and should be moved accordingly.

I don't think it is unreasonable for someone to easily see the thread topic, choose to ignore it if they are not interested, and move on to a thread they are interested in -- instead of taking time to repeatedly criticize people for doing what we do best on this forum: discuss all things sports (and politics, and parking, and speech policy, and history, and hand dryers, and...)

We cannot forget Tim O'Shea in these discussions either. For he has given forth his greatest gift prior to him leaving: the TOS to Threads. Even in my short time they have become a great joy for myself and many others, as we speculate as to who leaves for where and who's attempting to leave because a booster has taken their program hostage for a higher ransom than my bar tabs at Ohio......ah yes, the good ole days of Bobcat Attack.....

I don't think it's unreasonable for Ohio Bobcat fans to get fed up with the Joe Burrow discussions. It's a slap in the face to OU fans and the athletes who chose OU over other destinations. It has ZERO to do with Ohio Football. You could have just as easily ignored my post, but took time to criticize me. So what's the difference? Other than I only post about Ohio Bobcat Football on this forum. And you will post about anything apparently.

Your definition of reasonable: Don't talk about Joe Burrow at all. Anything not focused solely on Ohio athletes should be banned from this board.

My definition of reasonable: This is a nice board with a lot of different interesting topics and discussions. I understand those who may not care about an OSU QB with Athens ties, however, it is very easy to bypass a thread you aren't interested in. And that seems more reasonable to me.

Edit: As a reminder, I posted a general statement. You quoted it and criticized my post, then accused me of not ignoring your post and stated that I criticized you.

My definition of reasonable is to move a thread about the recruitment of a player to......wait for it........the Football Recruiting page.
