It projects Miami as a slight favorite in a very mediocre division. Bowling Green, Buffalo, Kent State and Ohio all rate just behind, with Akron at the bottom.

Is their order of prediction the way you listed it? I read it that they have Miami #1 and Akron #6, but did they have BG, UB, KSU and OU in the order of 2, 3, 4 and 5, respectively?

Kind of. They were shown that way based on S&P+ rank but Ohio and BG actually have slightly higher projected MAC win totals based on schedule.

Projected MAC wins, overall wins and S&P+ rank:
Miami 5.5, 7.3, 80
Ohio 4.0, 5.5, 110
BG 4.0, 5.3, 101
Kent 3.9, 5.1, 108
Buffalo 3.7, 5.5, 106
Akron 1.7, 2.6, 129

Here are offense and defense rankings:
Miami 61, 99
BG 111, 80
Buffalo 95, 107
Kent 66, 122
Ohio 91, 113
Akron 124, 126

Essentially it says Miami's offense gives it the edge but ultimately it comes down to who wins close games because five of the six are reasonably even.

I am very ok with being underestimated next year but we do have some pretty decent depth coming back. You have to believe that Rourke will take a step and have three really decent guys with Allison, Bangura and Ross behind him. He has Walton, Cross and Bostic and a line filled with Amburgey, TItsworth, Danneker, Meservy and Rodgers. Not to mention a defense with Wood, Thompson and McCrory at LB, Floyd, Parodie and Drake back in DB and linemen in Caesar, Daxon, Mayfield and Taylor. Not to mention all of our kickers.

What did OUr offense do last year with these players you mentioned? What did OUr defense do with these returning players?
