What’s our plan to win this game? Fortunately defense and special teams seem to be in tact. But offensively it’s just Sam, Chase, and the tight ends as far as skill players. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us play more two tight ends sets any way. Probably what we should’ve been doing all along or at least after Jacoby got hurt. Kazmarek and Foster are probably some of the best players on the team if not the best TEs in the conference. Offense is going to have to rely on them to make plays!

We are going to run the ball on every play and only pass when needed.

Feels like it will be a similar game to Wyoming last season. Though CJ did throw it 30+ times, so who knows.

Navarro has wheels, so a lot of RPO stuff, designed QB runs... hopefully try to get Ricky Hunt out in space... running behind the TE's... there is a tremendous amount of inexperience out there, so maybe it's best to expect the unexpected.

Anyway, has Navarro been confirmed? I dont know if my heart can take a true freshman starting his very first game on the road in a bowl game..

Kudos to the person who had to write this weeks "Game Notes" - a whole bunch of edits on that guy. LOL.

No mention of any of the former players.

QB: Navarro
RB: 1) McCormick 2) RHJ
WR: 1) Sammy 2) Chase

"In the air, Parker Navarro is 7-for-10 on 248
yards, throwing two touchdowns and one
interception in five games. Navarro is also a
threat on the ground with 10 carries for 107
yards. Navarro also has the longest rush
for the Bobcats this season with a 52-yard
scamper against Kent State.

Running backs Nolan McCormick, Rickey
Hunt, and Quintell Quinn will carry the load
for the Bobcats. McCormick has recorded
83 carries for 289 yards and a touchdown.
Hunt has six carries for 19 yards while Quinn
has five for 22. McCormick also has 20
receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown in
his career.

Wide receiver Sam Wiglusz has recorded
three touchdowns on 51 receptions and
596 yards. Tight ends Will
Kacmarek and Tyler Foster have proven
to be a strong tandem. Kacmarek has 22
receptions for 243 and a pair of touchdowns.
Foster has made 19 catches for 202 yards
on the year. Freshman Chase Hendricks
also played a role for Ohio, making eight
catches for 83 yards.

Defensively, linebacker Bryce Houston leads
the team with 119 total tackles and 54 solo
stops, putting him fourth in the MAC and
16th in FBS football."

Quintell Quinn.

I never realized until today we have a player on the roster with this name. Can't say I've ever met or even read about someone with the initials of QQ. Here's hoping he makes a name for himself toting the rock in the game!

I'm pretty sure he started here as a LB.

Might need him there too with Thompson out.

There are few things I hate more than rotating QB's BUT... we're in a unique situation to get him some live reps without worrying about burning his redshirt.

Also, something I didn't know about Winters he rushed for nearly 2,000 yards in HS and had an offer from Navy. (Also had 196 tackles). Feels like they could both run a few "trick" plays, RPO's, etc He's also built STURDY. I bet he's 230-240. We haven't had a bulldozer at QB, maybe ever? Would be an interesting wrinkle to bring back some of those Nathan plays we loved so much.

I think we're gonna see a ton of Navarro, giving him every chance to build confidence and take hold of the starting job next season.

But I agree - I would love to see Winters in live game action. Have heard nothing but good things from everyone who sees him play.

Our mediorce O-Line is still intact for the bowl game so that's good. Also, our D-Line and secondary is all there minus Brawley, so that's good considering Georgia Southern throws a ton. Obviously missing Keye Thompson hurts but we will see what happens.

I wish Kurtis Rourke all the luck in the world and I respect him as a player and someone who contributed to Ohio University football. But as far as I'm concerned, if Parker Navarro can win us a Bowl game a year after CJ Harris did it, Rourke will go down statistically awesome but in my mind, no MAC Championships and only one bowl win. I know last year was an injury but missing this one due to transfer only cements it that he shouldn't be placed above his brother, Tettleton or a number of other guys who actually competed in MAC title games and won bowl games. Go ahead and run me into traffic everyone for this take but I'll stand by it. I am all in on the guys who want to play in this game!

How much eligibility does Navarro have left? According to his bio, he finished high school in 2021, but he's already a grad student.

No problem from me. I'm in a "you're dead to me" camp when a starter enters the portal.

He finished his two years at UCF in 2021.

I believe, if he wanted it, next season would be his defacto "junior year" and he could still have that 6th year SR option. Though he's already a grad student, he might have to move into a PhD program or something.

2020: Redshirt
2021: Appeared in 5 games at UCF
2022: Appeared in 2 games for OU
2023: Bowl Game Legend
2024: OU starter?
2025: (Notre Dame QB)

Just wondering who these "other guys" who did both are.

For full disclosure, I would be comfortable with this ranking:

1. Nathan Rourke
2. Old Freaky Nasty
3. Tettleton
4. K. Rourke

I have no way of evaluating Bob Snyder. I also think you can shuffle these rankings without much argument. I don't see a way to get K. Rourke to #1.

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I don't know who Old Freaky Nasty might be and am too scared to do a Google search on my work computer....

The little I know about Georgia Southern is that they historically have been a run, run, and run some more program. Definitely different to see them throwing so much.

I expect them to have a good crowd on hand given the relatively short distance to MB from the Savannah/Statesboro area.
