That is the way we end up with around 110 players total on the roster. Say 85 scholarship players, 5-10 preferred walk-ons, then they usually fill out with players from campus tryouts. someone will correct me if I am wrong, I'm sure. Feels like we hear about kickers being called in from the frat house more than anywhere else though. I do recall a young Baker Reagan Mayfield having to walk on, twice.
