This year's recruiting has been baffling to me to say the least but it has been quite the perfect storm of things happening...

- Lose Head Coach
- Deal with tons of injuries per usual
- Have a 3-9 season
- Lose DC & Co-DC to retirement
- Deal with the wild west Transfer Portal "aka Free Agency" like every other team
- Apparently put out the least amount of offers to High School kids

Not making excuses because there are plenty of other teams, even FCS teams that have more commitments at this point. I just don't understand the recruiting strategy.

With no defensive verbals so far, you have to wonder if the defensive coach openings are affecting that. Or have the new coaches already been named, but it hasn’t been released?

Question? Who said there were no defensive verbals?🤔

I’m guilty of Danny Doomism this year, yet coaches are working hard with home visits.

This weekend should bring some visits to Athens and some commits.

Looks like more JUCOs this year especially on defense. They look to be decent student athletes and we need the help.

A little bit of twitter chatter with some of this weekend’s activities. It’s been interesting looking at the resumes of some of the visitors.

Coach Metz had a couple of interesting ones on his twitter page.

David Adolph of Dublin Jerome is a 6’6” WR. Since Coach Metz is OUr TE coach maybe a few pounds makes David a red zone threat.

Jordan JJ Jones is a 6’4”-260 DL that is a PWO. His Ashland KY team had a few decent defensive players.

My guess is that this class will not meet OUr standards but will not be as bad as most predicted.

Keep in mind Wednesday is early signing day. Most of those guys who sign early (Like my son)will be on there respective Campus in January. You still have the regular signing day in February. That gives the Coaches time to get this class up to standard . Coach Albin has a great staff and he will bring in some great coaches. Trust the process

Thanks for your posts. They give me a glimmer of hope that maybe Albin will turn out to be a better head coach than the results on the field that I observed this past season. I said some pretty harsh things as the season progressed. I always realize that I may not know what I'm talking about. I hope that his is one of those cases.
