I'll start off . With my opinion only. I am not a statistician, I will always be an optimist for OUr CATS. I am completely aware of our record. I am also aware we have started MAC play with a tough schedule. However, besides the Kent game, I think the importance of this game is big. Where does this team want to be/deserve to be in the next 5-10 games with conference standings. Player morale. Can't wait to see the 110 and Cellis and company in the Convo during this stretch! Go Cats!

I agree with Randy, this is a huge game. Win this and get some serious momentum back. Home crowd, students back, mediocre CMU team. Need to get this win any way possible. I don't care if its 120-121 or 30-31, just win baby.

After a ho-hum pre-conf performance and a 1-4 MAC start, I would lower expectations on any type of home crowd influence.

Wonder how serious Boals was about the starters situation and if we’ll actually see any changes to the lineup.

Even more of a reason to just win. Win back some fan enthusiasm/engagement too.

40 degrees and a 3% chance of precip. On a Saturday.

Not many excuses for the students to not show up, no matter the record so far.

Should be a big one. I've noticed Kevin Miller hasn't played since November, injured? Jesse Zarzuela and Brian Taylor are two of their highest scorers for the year along with Bass. Should be a test. Win and regain momentum in the MAC!

I enjoy your enthusiasm Cellis. I hope you were able to snare some interest in fellow students to attend a game. I am old/er, and growing up being a "townie" with folks who worked their adult lives for the University, I was exposed to Ohio Athletics at a young age. I was an honorary member of "The Sixth Man Club" in elementary school.( still have the shirt and it fits me grand). I thinks its called O-Zone now. It took me a while to adjust to the Attack Cat rather than the Paw. I venture around home football games, I enjoy watching on the student side more than my Tower Club seats.. OK, here's my point. It will be difficult to hear if the term "Bobbies" sticks.. Please no! Bleed Green!

Boals said after Toledo all five starting spots are up for grabs. Granted we know it's four spots because Wilson is always starting.

With that said, start Elmore and have AJ Brown come off the bench and see if AJ can regain his spark as the 6th man. It makes sense.

A first look at two of the potential freshman of the year going at it in the Convo today, Bass vs Brown! Both have struggled in MAC action but both were valuable contributors to their teams pre-January.

Perhaps the Convo atmosphere and the soft rims get them both going again today!

^^ All sounds good to me fellas. Looking forward to this one. As always. Competition for PT within a team is usually a positive thing to me. Get this one Cats!

Twitter action suggests it's a big football recruiting weekend. Let's show them a cool time in the Convo.

Off topic but, do we know that the 2PM Saturday 28th game vs Akron will actually be at that time or can it be moved to Friday at this late juncture?

All quiet on the western front after that home beatdown. As expected.

We're still figuring stuff out - but in the end this team will be fine. We'll not only make it to Cleveland, but might even win one.

Nobody is catching Kant this year anyway.

Much needed win for the basketball team today. I was impressed. It was over midway through the first half. I touched palms with a couple potential football recruits. Nothing financial, just welcoming. All well received. IMO. The student section and band could use a little warm up down the stretch. However very pleased with the "locals" turnout. keep it going Tuesday

Football players were recognized at halftime after filling out an entire section (other end of lower bleachers from where the 110 sits) during the first half. The players must have had a mandatory study table on this fine Saturday afternoon because the entire team exited the Convo after the halftime ceremony.

Elmore James needs to play more than 20 minutes. That shot he created for himself, and then nailed, at the end of the first half when the shot clock was nearing zero was something I haven't seen in the Convo in a while. Need more of that going forward.

There is only one TV spot for the MAC next weekend and Buffalo/Kent has it (Kent is in the middle of a stretch of playing on four straight Fridays with some more likely to come).

Miami at Ohio 2/4 is safe. We get a Saturday home game with our rival with students on campus and it's Sibs Weekend.

Will our home game against Akron stay on a Saturday? We should find out soon.

I noticed that as well. Maybe they thought that was OHIO protocol based on what happens after halftime at Peden....

Is the Marjerle on this team the kid of the former Chippewa star?
