We could be ranked and I'd fully expect a loss at BGStdU. That place is a house of horrors. Let alone this year when we aren't very good.

I expect a double digit loss.

Agree. This place always sucks for us.

All of this. I think the Cats only have a handful of wins up there this entire century?

We haven't won there since 2016-17 and even that feels like an anamoly - a 24 point route just weeks after we lost Tony Campbell for the season. That was also Saul Phillips' only win up there.

Jim Christian was 2-0 there and John Groce was Ofer.

By my count we're 5-17 since 2000. Ouchies.

Bowling Green had a ton of guys injured/suspended for that 2017 game. It shouldn't even count. I think they started a football player. Ellis Dozier had his only career dunk that day. That should tell you something.

I wish we had Ellis Dozier this year. And Wadly. And Foster. And Springs--I could keep going--and Jacobs--and anyone who isn't taking a seat on the bench in street clothes every game.

Dozier wasn't even good enough to get playing time at tiny Claflin College in South Carolina where he transferred to. (NAIA?)

He averaged 0.6 ppg and 0.3 rebounds per game at Ohio. He might as well have been sitting on the bench in street clothes. He makes Colin Granger look like an NBA lottery pick.

I was being facetious. I almost put Andy Kanzig for the old timers.

Not at all optimistic about this game.

Why do we always play like shit at BG?

Good ole Big County. God bless Larry Hunter...but how in the hell was this program recruiting the Andy Kanzig's of the world coming off the Trent years? I've said it before and I'll say it again. Larry never capitalized on the recruiting trail following Trent era.

I feel an Ohio win coming tonight. BG's bench is just too short with all the injuries they have (including to Towns) to keep them afloat in the MAC. Their non-conference schedule was way soft and the MAC slate is a decent step up for them. EMU should have beaten them in the MAC opener, and Akron crushed them in the second half. That said, they finally seem to be gaining some traction up there with that program and I like their new coach. He'll do a better job there than Huger or Orr ever did. I think Ohio will slowly wear them down tonight and the Cats get the much-needed road win.

Oh my eyes…

Hunter had a nice dish to a cutting/lumbering Wiz… Wiz had all the elegance and fleet footed moves of a rhino on roller scales and absolutely heaved it off the top of the backboard from about 4 feet away.

Picture Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Along Came Polly when he screams RAIN DANCE and you’ll have it.

Wiz did have a really nice spin move around his defender for a layup earlier.

So nice that I was screaming, "Why doesn't he do this more?" To the TV when he did it.

Until/besides that moment, I was going to say Gabe looks good in the paint on the offensive side. Both back against the basket moves were solid despite missing one. It is however, truly fascinating at this point as to why he can’t grab the ball from a rebound perspective. This isn’t even me dogging him, I’m just puzzled.

….Some possessions and rushed decision making/shots were frustrating; but overall we’re playing with more intensity than previous games. Clayton only has 3 shots, all threes. Hope he’s not reverting to last year’s version and we can see some pick and rolls with him. Those work well.

Sheldon continues to impress.

I think I can tell you why wiz cannot handle the ball. At the end of last year I said they should throw 1000 balls to him a day and make him jump rope 1000× a day to improve his footwork. It doesn’t look like either happened.

It’s confounding. Wiz doesn’t want to / can’t box out. Can’t see the ball? Is never in position. Makes no sense.

Sheldon boxes out and got an offensive board right in front of him. How he cannot set a pick, or grab rebounds is astonishing.

Other than that…

Honestly, both teams look pretty decent. Whoever keeps up their 40% 3pt will win.

Sheldon looks good. Elmore is making shots. Shareef is getting open. Cornish is getting rebounds. Everyone looks fairly active. Should be a good second half.

It'd be interesting to know what EJ's FG% on his little fadeaway from the lane is this year.

More dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble. Pass the ball.

I guess we didn’t work on inbounds plays

I love the teams that double and triple team in the lane and leave shooters wide-open for three.

Had away, twice in a row, guarding the lane and leaving their best three point shooter wide-open.

The issue is our defense. The metrics clearly point to one MASSIVE issue.

Bowling Green entered with the 234th ranked offensive efficiency numbers and we let them school us.

Twelve 3s. Bobcats do not close out. All of those had defense standing there 3 or 4 feet away with no challenge. What happened to teaching close outs with high hands?

EJ was called for hooking his arm around the BG defender while driving through the lane in the 2nd half, the correct call. Hill clearly got away with a hook with his off arm when posting up Sheldon with 1 1/2 minutes left in the game. Instead, the ref called the foul on Ohio, putting Hill on the free throw line.

They get 12 because we don’t guard. We are too busy worrying about the lane
