Billy, putting a winning team on the field, doesn’t seem to make the big difference it used to. Just look at OUr football attendance …seems like a lot fewer students and a lot fewer adults with their butts in the stands nowadays.

The point BTC was trying to make was look at the ticket prices above. Why does Ohio have way higher prices than most of the games above? This isn't about attendance.

Because ticket priced high or low, only the faithful show!

Yes and no. We only corner Canadians who can't play at this level.

How has Vegas not figured this team out?

Ohio is a 10 1/2 point favorite? I mean...how?

NET:
Ohio - 218
CMU - 287

KenPom:
Ohio - 179
CMU - 297

Torvik:
Ohio - 189
CMU - 300

Average:
Ohio - 195.3
CMU - 294.7

We're still ranked 100 spots higher than them. That's why.

That is an awful lot of points, given Elmore is likely out. We've got a 7 man rotation, and 4 of the 7 average more than 4 fouls per 40 minutes.

I expect us to win at home. But 10 1/2 is a lot of points.

I have no shame taking CMU +10.5 in this one. Obviously hope we win but might as well try to take advantage of an absurd spread and double dip.

Ohio 82
CMU 77

And we are 3-10 against the spread. There is no way Vegas is accounting for Elmore out.

[QUOTE=Casper71] Ticket prices are low because at most places student dont go to games anymore. And there’s so much other stuff going on that adults don’t go either. Look at our lower bowl at any game and it is 2/3 empty. I’m assuming those are season ticket holders and they’re not showing up. Or we haven’t sold those seats in the first place? Watching our games on ESPN plus from Cincinnati Ohio is real disappointing when you see our crowds and compare them to what they used to be. I’m sure most every other athletic department in the country feels the same way.

Put a winning program on the floor and the attendance will rise. I suspect it's always been that way.

Cincinatti and Dayton played before 11,000 and 13,000 fans respectively recently at their last home game. It was just surprising that Ohio had one of the highest ticket prices listed above and that was not just the MAC games, but the entire slate above.

They have to pay for putting up those barricades and extra security every game some way....

I think we've finally found a way to fund NIL deals for Ohio.

Hey there's an idea! Maybe even put some incentives in there for the players. Beat the spread X number of times get a NIL bonus.

Absolutely nothing could go wrong with this.

Interested in seeing what direction we go with the core lineup if Elmore is not available, both in short term and long term. I'm not in favor of starting three diminutive guards, especially tonight. Central is last in the MAC in rebounding margin and towards the bottom in FG%. It's not like our guards are setting the world on fire, so what if we give them no glimmer of hope to improve on their weaknesses? Play Gabe, Clayton, and Hadaway together for a "big" look and have Ike rotate in for whomever in that three needs it and rotate that way.

YOLO.

Although I'm not sure how much of an edge our "big" look of AJC/Wiz gives us with them combining for THREE rebounds in the last two games.

We might need to get AJC tested first to make sure he doesn't have an allergy to the paint.

Elmore in the green shirt on the bench. He’s walking around so that’s a positive.

Good defense plus their crappy shooting equals big lead! Our offense usually does show up.

This second half is U-G-L-Y. But at least it’s going to be a victory.

Nice win. CMU hit a lot of 3s and that's all that kept them in it. We were definitely the better team, even short handed.

I found myself wondering how CMU has three MAC wins already.

The MAC is going to be a crapshoot this year, after Akron and Toledo.

Buffalo. Ball State. EMU.

But yeah, it’s a bad year. No reason they cant figure this out and make a run.

Great team win tonight!!! Us in the O-Zone were loud throughout the night and I think it definitely contributed down the stretch. We got off to a great start but kinda bent in the second half but defense made up for it. That Hadaway poster dunk was crazyyyyy. They gotta make copies of that - would buy it immediately. Glad Jaylin could bounce back and Miles return to the starting role. Won’t be able to make the EMU game but will make every game after that. Last year is flying by.
