Three Bobcat Runners Finish in Top Five at Conference Championships

KALAMAZOO, Michigan- Ohio Cross Country completed a solid day of competition at the 2010 Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday, as the women’s team finished fourth overall while the men’s team took fifth. Headlining the races were outstanding individual performances by
Annie Beecham (fourth place overall), Ridge Robinson (second place) and Scott Meyers (fifth place).

Beecham (Granville, Ohio) led the way for the women’s team, finishing fourth place in a time of 20:59.8. Kari Summers (Troy, Ohio) was not far behind, taking 10th overall with her mark of 21:19.2. Melissa Thompson’s (Westerville, Ohio) time of 21:40.3 was good enough for 20th place while teammates Abigail Swift (Newark, Del.) and Juli Accurso (Casstown, Ohio) took 23rd and 32nd, respectively, finishing in times of 21:47.5 and 22:11.1.

On the men’s side, Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) and Meyers (Xenia, Ohio) ran great races, finishing second and fifth, respectively, with their times of 24:33.5 and 24:53.3. Tyler Cantley (Vincent, Ohio) took 30th in 25:38.5, freshman Chase Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) finished 33rd in 25:40.5 and Chris Davis (Reedsville, Ohio) took 37th to round out the Bobcat squad, crossing in 25:43.1.  

The Bobcats will next be in action when both teams head to the NCAA Regionals in Oakland, Michigan on November 12. The men’s race will begin at 11 am and the women will compete at noon.
