I think I heard in the Ohio post-game show last night that the Miami president and/or AD bought all remaining unsold tickets for this game.

It's WALLY DAY for Miami as well. I thought they already retired his jersey. Perhaps not. Also having a hat giveaway.

Nice Saturday afternoon game for them.

Should be a solid crowd. I have no idea how this game could go. Just hoping for more defensive intensity and some growth for the young guys.

Someone yell to Vic for me that he should shoot when he has the ball uncontested at the elbow. Odds of getting a better look than that with a few more passes would be low.

Why does Sheldon shoot 15ft free throws from 16.5 feet? Did a physics professor tell him at his height the odds improve at that distance?

Love Elliott's "Earl Boykins style" pre-shot free throw shooting routine.

Keep improving game by game! Go Bobcats, bring Miami back down into the mass for 2nd.

I noticed this for the first time in OUr last game. He hit both attempts after making 14% as a frosh and 62% as a soph, so "whatever it takes," I guess.

Looks like we're going to be an out. You can take our seats.

We played well enough to win against Toledo, but their ability to hit the shots they're not supposed to hit did us in the most. Truth be told we are playing a lot better than I would have guessed down two front court veterans. Need to take that show on the road to have a chance.

Unfortunately my gut says we're in for a Tim O'shea life on the road special. Miami is 6th in the nation in FG% and 3PT%, 12th in 3PT made per game. They have also forced 20+ opponent fouls in each of their last three games. Depth and defense will be tested for sure.

This very well could be the largest Millett crowd for a conference game since the Wally years. They're going all out with the promotions and outright bribing people to come. Good for them. They have a more than watchable team and good coach and that raises the profile of the MAC and hoops in southwest Ohio. Steele really should have started out at a school like Miami for his first HC gig instead of the Big East.

They have definitely retired his jersey. Someone in the OU game thread on their board last year said it's getting a bit much with honoring the same legends year after year with some promotion. Do students give a rip about a free Charlie Coles jersey? That was the giveaway two years ago.

I know we're working with some budget constraints - but that would be a cool idea for us. Some type of cheap jersey or shirsy giveaways with Gary Trent or Preston to drive some additional butts in seats for games. Would be kinda cool to have for Dads or Moms weekend as well, not that those weekends need the additional lift. Would just be a cool takeaway.

My worst game experience was his buzzer beater in Cleveland. So I'd especially love beating them, with him in their dump.

It was Grunk. I had a great view of it. Or maybe a terrible view. Pouted in my seat until the next game started. Wally was gone by the time the tournament moved to Cleveland.

I think it could be in the budget for a tee-shirt give away at some point this year. Heck, I could have 5 tees this year they throw out after made 3's (only 3 last year of the same shirt). However, I would rather the sponsors of some shirzys collaborate to bring in a big man next year. Or talk Prokos into NIL rather than $500 towards rent to some random that will never use it.... etc. For those attending the game tomorrow, I think we can win. Go get em at Millett!

Does anyone know if free tickets are still available for tomorrow? I haven't tried getting one, but it sure is tempting. If things work out, I would love to Bleed Green in Millett. Besides a concert, I haven't been there since 94-95.. That was amazing.

Line opens up at Miami -3.5.

Saw on their message board that they are expecting up to 8,000 (!!!) at Millet for this one. How is that possible? I've been there several times and it's always been a library--probably 1500 people max.

Great for the MAC and the rivalry if the fan engagement becomes less one-sided. Even better if we can send those 8k Miami fans (I'll believe it when I see it) back home with their 24th loss in the last 30 in the series.

Maybe Miami hockey is losing some of its luster. 3-14-2 and 0-14 in their conference will probably do that. College kids need something fun to do. I get the feeling Miami didn’t take their football championship game embarrassing beat down too well either. Throw in Steele has the team going and Wally will be honored. Seems like a recipe for a decent crowd to me.

It's basically exactly like our game in 2012. Brought back Gary Trent, were doing well, and against the rival. Difference is we had 12k+, I suspect they will have about 6k.

Man it would be sweet to spoil it. I recall a not-so-great Miami team nearly spoiled the Gary Trent day...I think we trailed by like 6 pretty late and Coop & Walt hit back to back 3s?

Speaking of Trent and Miami, I can’t help but think about his battles with Devin Davis. Davis must have really relished the encounters too because it brought out the best in him. Davis was really good but he raised his play a couple of levels against Gary. In my opinion, he was the one player who seemed to be Gary’s kryptonite to some degree and we played some really good teams out of conference. The Convo was really hopping for those games. Fun times for sure.

You'd have to check the box score but I remember a late Coop 3, one of several Keely and-1s on the day, and a Walt pick six layup.

Recommend the MAC moved the three point line until the Bobcats learn how to shoot outside the paint!
