Gravy train is over. Let's see where he gets drafted and plays an 82 game season. Can somebody say Europe Pro league ?

Every time I think that Sears can play in the NBA and contribute, I’m quickly reminded last night that I’m not so sure. He looked very tiny against Duke.

And I know he played five years of college basketball, but it sure felt like nine.

By any measure he had a very successful collegiate career. Don’t blame him for the Bama move, he just took advantage of the opportunity and made a bundle of money in the process and got to display his talents on the big stage. Wish him the best going forward.

My guess is that there's a ~70% chance Sears gets taken in the second round, and if he doesn't he'll sign a free agent contract with somebody and make a roster either way.

He's old for the draft and teams will be hesitant to commit a lot of money to him as a result. But he also has some clear skill sets and is strong enough to stick on a roster. If he ends up in the right situation, I could see him carving out a solid career.

NBA Draft . net says second to last pick of the 2nd round. That would mean Summer League and probably G-League.

Two taller SEC guards will go in the top 11 picks of the first round they say.

Sorry to see Sears go out this way. As I recall and as a saw during the game, he always has trouble with bigger guys guarding him. In the NBA, the guys will all be bigger than him. I would be shocked if he is drafted and successful. Europe sounds much more sensible to me.

Bama lists him at 6-1. The NBA draft combine says he is 5-10 without shoes.

Sears appears to be a leader and a winner. He played in the best league (by far it seems) and I’m sure played against a lot of taller players and thrived. While certainly not NBA level competition, he’s done okay. Do they play defense in the NBA? I haven’t noticed. I would tend to think, he’ll play there as a bench player, but I have no real idea if that will happen.

They play elite defense at a level that no college basketball team could even remotely replicate.

In 2046, we might honor the 25th anniversary of the 2021 MAC champions. If Sears is invited, do you think he'd show up?

If still living I'll try to make it for that. I have my doubts that we'll ever win another one.

A lot of things, and I mean A LOT, would have to happen for Ohio basketball to never win another MAC title.

He'd still make six figures in Europe, and he's probably a millionaire already, right? I'm happy for him.

In a vision I see greencat strolling across the Liberty University campus, a big angelic smile on his face, and greeting all he meets with warm salutations. What time and Providence can do!

I called Bama’s exit and named my bracket Tears for Sears. I think it will be temporary and he will have a long pro career. US or Europe, who cares?

I told someone in the biz about Sears’ exit from OU and the circumstances, and he said not to worry, a lot of families without experience in the business world don't understand etiquette. I think that applies here, and I am glad to read he still has fond feelings of OU.

Man if that brings this type of reaction, I can't even imagine what you do when someone drops a bible verse on you.

Actually, I was using scripture on a so-called "christian" just the other day who loves and adores elon musk.

Matthew 19:24 - "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God" but they couldn't explain why under the tenets of their own religion they supposedly believe in, they worship a man who per that religion is 110% headed straight for hell.

Hmmmm.....No wonder a steeple looks like a giant dunce cap.

Well, you conveniently forgot the next verse, Matthew 19:26: "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Rabbi Jesus' points were often somewhat subtle and require close reading and study to fully understand. Taking one verse out of context often leads to incorrect interpretation of the concept being taught.

And, your statement about steeples is downright intolerant.
