Having seen a number of the earlier games, one thing has become obvious. And I’ve talked about it all year. Boals & Co have gotta get out there and recruit shooters. But then again not just shooters but makers. All five positions have to be able to shoot the ball nowadays and we are lucky if we had one this year.

He can have all the "makers" you want but if he doesn't run an offense with ball movement and get guys who also hustle on D and work together then all the "makers" in the world mean nothing.

I miss the days of having at least one shooter on the floor that was feared and respected. I'm thinking Freeman/Dartis/Kellogg level stuff. I'd gladly settle for a borderline starter/bench guy like Travis Wilkins right now.

I would follow along the portal prospects thread. Although lower levels, the commonality of current targets is high shooting %’s, specifically 3PT.

With so many spots to fill, I imagine we’ll see a blend of levels added. Nonetheless, it’s encouraging to see shooters being targeted early on.

Newsflash… It does not start with ball movement. You can move the ball all you want. In this day and age you have to have shooters that are makers first and then have them move the ball to the open player. It starts with makers.

John Rhodes got a lot of quotes.

Talking to guards/wings

"I'm not recruiting shooters, I need makers" and "world's got a lot of shooters, Son,be a maker"

Talking to bigs
"A missed shot is just a pass to the front of the rim"

I love that guy and his wisdom.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game
