WSEO reporting on a Federal lawsuit against the University by a John Doe who was dismissed from school. Now you know why the University never commented.

A former Ohio University basketball player is suing the university, arguing its decision to expel him was based on a flawed investigation into allegations he abused his girlfriend.
The player and his now ex-girlfriend are not named in the lawsuit and instead are referred to as John Doe and Jane Roe.
The lawsuit was filed two weeks ago in federal court.
According to the lawsuit, John confronted Jane in her apartment bedroom one night in September 2023 over his suspicion she was cheating on him. The two argued then spent the night together, and the next morning John left.
Jane filed a complaint alleging the confrontation that night escalated into verbal and physical abuse. She accused John of shouting at her, threatening her, strangling her and pulling her hair. John denies this.
The university’s Title IX office, which handles civil rights complaints, including allegations of dating violence, launched an investigation. This led to John’s expulsion in February 2024.

We had to keep him around just to avoid a potential lawsuit? And then he sued anyway?

Fire that dude into the sun.

Billy The Cat with the post of the year.

Great investigative work BTC.

If my timeline is correct, Bahamas was still allowed to go to the Bahamas.

Make it make sense.

Called due process. Don’t have to like it, but if you deny it, it can be very costly. This is also the same time when our University was running around suspending every group and everyone at the slightest accusation. With zero charges filed in his case and nothing criminal coming out of it. He very well may take a BIG chunk of tax payer money. With NIL and such, he can prove depriving him of income. May be wrong, but Cutler Hall may lose this one.

University judiciaries would not know due process if it punched them in the nose. That'll be part of his case -- that he was denied due process by the kangaroo court system run by the university. Bank on it!
