Signs with Central State.

I mean…that’s a big whiff on talent evaluation.

And Fisher has to pay his agent for Central State?????

What a business.

Holy smokes.

I'm curious to know who on the staff is giving the scholarships out or pointing Boals in the direction of handing one out.

Looking back at Fisher's scholarship announcement, he thanks Boals. I'm not sure if that means he was the first set of eyes of Fisher or not. Kelly tags both Lamar and Boals in his. I couldn't find Evans'.

Elliott didn't reference a specific coach. A number of the more recent scholarship offers for next year have referenced Lee.

Lamar has evidently been recruiter number 1, but I'd like to see the hit rate for everyone individually.

He was the one I was saddest about losing, and not just because of his size. His per 100 splits were some of the best on the team (extremely minimal time), but clearly that isn't enough to grab the eyes of P5 bench recruiters, or even G5 recruiters. Left a good situation to rebuild in D2. Wish ya luck kid. He *should* dominate, but if he doesn't...

The only pause I have on his per 100 splits are that those numbers are grossly inflated by 13 minutes against MU-Hamilton. Each other game he played in he logged 4 minutes or less.

Fiami University at Hamilton (the Harriers) competes at the small-college national level as members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and if I'm not mistaken are grouped in the second division of that below-NAIA level organization. My 85 year old mother-in-law with the neck brace on could dominate for 13 minutes against them.

But not to downplay any of our recruits or risk a clique of the usuals starting a flame war over it, complete with their torches and pitchforks. And if they do, they can get told where to stick it like BLSS was informed of recently.

From a broader recruiting strategy standpoint, it seems like Boals and co. were trying to zag a little. While the rest of college basketball was trying to get older and more experienced, we still seemed to emphasize high school recruiting pretty heavily.

This off-season feels a bit like a sea change. Much less emphasis on high schoolers and obviously much more on international guys who have played at a much higher level.

That could end up good or bad. Or somewhere in between.

Take fellow mid-major UT_Martin as a example. They went all out international guys and finished 22-11 last season which is not horrible. Yet on the other hand that was only good enough for 3rd place in the OVC and now the early season wins over UNLV and Bradley are forgotten.

Please don't compare the UT-Martians with The OHIO Bobcats!

[No that wasn't a typo, it became a joke on here years ago when we played them as our annual FCS team in football.]

Is it possible Reynoldsburg coach Moore has some incriminating info/photos of coach Boals? Afterall, if memory serves me, Moore was the best man in Boals' wedding, and/or the othe way around.

Every time he got in the game, he was VERY aggressive. Taking it strong to the hoop while we were in clock chewing mode. I took it as stat padding, but also didn't judge given how few opportunities he got to shine.

Pretty surprised Central State was the best he could do. Who knows, maybe his girlfriend goes there.
