Saw that too. Bummer, hopefully that’s it for cupcakes.

Just perused D1 Docket. How is it that Miami can get games against Wright State, UC, IU, Indiana State and Evansville, and Ohio seemingly struggles to get decent regional games?

Buffalo does the same thing in their region, as does Ball State.

I know there's more to it that I realize, and that it takes two schools to schedule, but it's just a little perplexing to me. Why not play away games (or 1 for 1's) that your fan base can easily attend on a weekend date?

I feel like we do pretty decently. Last year we were at Cleveland State and Kentucky on weekends, we usually have a Marshall series, supposedly we have Detroit and YSU this year and if those are road games they are not so bad for certain alumni pockets. There have been very few weird road games. Stetson and Iona come to mind, but Iona was a holdover arrangement from the Saul regime. Otherwise, if Villanova, LSU, and Florida say "yes" to you, you take it.

Miami has a slight advantage with UC and Wright State as those games don't require an overnight stay and IU is only a 2 and a half hour drive. I'm sure that makes a difference.

I think this has a lot to do with it.

I've mentioned it in other threads, but I've been flabbergasted that WVU, Cincy, Dayton, Pitt aren't on some sort of OU rotation. That should be an easy travel, even if they don't want to do a 1-1 a lot of OU fans would make the short trip.

Lack of regional "rivals" really hurts the schedule.

Ann Arbor, Indianapolis, Lexington all within a four hour drive.

Hoping Thad throws Boals a few games with Butler. I always enjoy an excuse to visit Hinkle.

I guess I think it could be better. No debate on the Villanova, LSU, Florida comment. Take those games all the time. Past that, to me, there's all kinds of value in playing games that are closer to home -- both for travel costs, and for alumni engagement. Throw in the idea that home games against regionally relevant opponents makes sense from a ticket sales perspective on the weekends.

More than anything, I hope they get the Nov/Dec home schedule with more Saturday/Sunday games this year. Last year was not good, with two Monday games that could (in my opinion) have easily been Sunday games. At some point, the schedule should have ticket sales in mind in terms of the time/day of the game.

If this happened, it would be a must game to be at. 🤞

I believe the thinking here was to get on TV as much as possible, trying to capitalize on the prior year, not about prioritizing specific days (weekends).

Not exactly great for selling tickets, but ideally a way to build on recruiting and expanding OU's profile. Similar to what happens for football.

And if this team (stays) is good as I think it can be, there might be a whole lot more Tuesday nights on CBS.

If we are going to an 18 game MAC schedule, I hope for at least two non-conference Saturday home games against D1 opponents while students are on campus. I'd hope for it in all years, but with a smaller conference schedule, there should be more flexibility to get it done. Sunday is such a weird day for college basketball. Half the year competes with the NFL and even when it doesn't, Sunday means I'm probably not staying for postgame eats and drinks, coming from out of town.

Eastern Illinois released their non-conference schedule. It confirms what I think we already knew about our MTE. Just three teams. We'll play EIU on Black Friday then ASU the following Sunday. EIU and ASU will play a one-off in our building that Saturday.

A Saturday home game against a D1 opponent while students are in session. Give me just one more of these and the non-conference schedule is gravy. Bonus points that it's an in-state opponent that casuals will recognize, and not like Presbyterian College.

Spain games are complete.

Still no full-schedule released.

Every year it feels like we are the last college program in the country to get it done.

Looks like only 80 programs have released full schedules so far. When was our finalized last year?

Toledo is nearly done I would think.

Mark my words....we will most likely be the last MAC team to announce full schedule.

Death...taxes and Ohio basketball announcing its full schedule after September 1st.

Hey it looks like the season tickets are now for sale ad of today. That’s great, considering you don’t know what the schedule is yet. Cart before the horse, maybe,

It's been this way for a long time. I haven't always done so, but I set up my renewal a month ago this time around.

Ball State is the first MAC team to release its non conference schedule and it may be the softest slate I've ever seen. Mid 2000s Akron would be embarrassed.

Oh it's bad. It's really bad. Their "best" game is against Vermont (56 NET) in a Bahamas tournament. The rest of that field is UNCW, Missouri State, North Texas, SJSU, Oakland and LBSU. After that their next "best" game is Illinois State (200 NET). Four of their opponents were 300+ NETs last year and they have two non-D1 non-exhibition opponents and 0 P5/Big East opponents. One thing to note, they have 13 non conference games, confirming that the MAC is not going to be a 20 game slate, so we are probably looking at six or seven games for us still TBA, assuming nothing is official with Stetson, Detroit, and Youngstown.

Feels like that's a new staff, roster turnover move because they're not sure what they have. But that's really bad.

105 teams have now announced their non conference schedules. Only one is a MAC team. Several conferences have announced their schedules too. Not the MAC.

This may be the oddest game I've ever seen scheduled - Stony Brook is going to host Miami University-Hamilton for a regular season game.

Up to 109. Teams are starting to release full schedules everyday. Wonder if we’ll end up just dropping the whole thing at once as well, instead of random single game announcements.
