That is wild he still has eligibility after starting CBB career in 2016.

Jayson Tatum (same recruiting class) has played in more NBA playoff games than Seth Towns has played college games.

I agree. I’d guess Javonte plays right away. To add more speculation — Boals’ son now follows Javonte.

Time for some BAer to step forward and track flights from College Station to Albany International. I'm sure they'll want to bring him in for a big signing ceremony and hold a presser for the hordes of local media clamoring to cover all aspects of OHIO sports.

I wouldn't be upset if they brought both C's back from A&M.

Time to end the speculation. It's Brown.

Going down a rabbit hole... see ya'll on the other side.

"Javonte Brown was probably the best offensive big in Canada last season and is one of the best skilled big, true bigs that we’ve seen in a while," said Canadian basketball scout Wesley Brown who has Brown ranked as a five-star prospect. "He became a star really last year offensively in the OSBA. He always had the size and he was pretty mobile, but he really became an offensive beast last year, scoring through double teams, strong with the ball, skilled, developed his shot, has a pretty good jump shot."

He averaged 18.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.6 blocks, was Canadian DPOY, also maintained a 4.0 GPA.

Ranked as a four-star prospect and was the No. 123 overall recruit by 247Sports

I thought the portal closed to new names on the 13th??

How did that Seth Towns guys jump in late? And how could he still be eligible?

This next season would be like his 10th year of college or what?

Not that the NCAA has any rules left they enforce.

He's not related to that guy at BGSU is he?

While we patiently await for the big man to arrive, it should not go unnoticed that Elmore, AJ and Jaylin did not explore the portal this year. That's a massive recruiting job right there by Boals and staff.

Someone claimed that Myles Foster was pretty much inevitable on some thread a few weeks ago.

I’m guessing he means Brown is the guy of interest with all the social media. To your point, we thought Foster was a done deal. Fingers crossed an announcement happens this week.

Biggest win of our offseason and a reason for optimism next year in itself.

Just a gut feeling, but Elmore's profile doesn't seem like someone who would leave as long as everything in our program is stable. I just don't see the angle.

Javonte Brown sounds exciting to me, and not just because we would now have 3 Brown Bros. If he had no other negative background and it has been truly isolated to the Walmart shoplift incident, I can live with that especially if he is a 4.0 student. His cover story of forgetting to pay was probably a lie, but I'll take a thief over an abuser or drug/alcohol user any day. Seems like he could have a pretty high ceiling based on his initial recruiting profile.

Poor AJ Brown would be one of three AJs and one of three Browns. Boals might have to give him a nickname just so everyone knows who he is talking to.

Why?

Yes...idiots are always gonna say dumb stuff...but if anything this board shows recruits and parents this is the best fanbase in the MAC and the best team fan message board in the conference as well.

I agree with that assumption. Out of those three, AJB was the one I circled that potentially could explore other options. He's a long way from home, I truly hope Athens has become his second hOUme like so many out of state kids before him.

I smile, or actually laugh, when I see your posts full of so much anger and frustration. Just to set things straight .. I don't love Saul. I thought he was a good coach who had the misfortune of some significant injuries to players while here in Athens. He also was the kind of coach I like to see in the community. Not sure if Boals is still living in suburban Columbus or not but coaches like Nee and Saul certainly were positives locally I feel.

Boals moved *back* to New Albany for a rare chance at stability for his kids (daughter now a swimmer at Florida State, son is a soph or junior). I think that says more about him as a man than how often he is seen eating out in Athens.

LOL. Tallahassee is a long way from Athens. 'Nuff said.
