Correct...but nobody had Ohio down 25 points against Detroit Mercy with 10 minutes go in the game on the pre-season bingo card.

We're not going to run into too many teams hitting 50% from three. It's not like we're not guarding the perimeter; they keep backing up and splashing them down. They're just shooting out of their heads. And we hit that five or six minute cold spell in the first half. These are things that happen, even when we had JP and BVP and the rest. It's all just coming down on the same night. Shake it off, play through it, and hope for better things Sunday.

I didn't fill out a bingo card but I did say we shouldn't be surprised if we were 0-4 at Thanksgiving. At least we're one better than I thought we might be.

For those wondering why Boals wasn't giving Odeludon minutes earlier, I think we're seeing why tonight. While I like the energy he provides on one end of the floor, he's very limited in what he can give the Cats on the other end.

I wouldn’t go that far. We still don’t know what AJ Brown does to this team.

Any ETA when AJ can play?

Shumate sitting at 33 pts with 4 min left for UT on an efficient 15 of 21 from the floor. Milner at at 21 on an even more efficient 9 of 12. UT blowing out Oakland, a team picked to finish higher that Detroit in the Horizon.

Toledo has its identity. Shumate/Milner down low and Dennis outside. We’re clearly still trying to find ours.

Did we not learn anything from Belmont first half? Can't have starting five on the bench for 6 minutes when other team goes on a 26-10 run. Really feel like Boals is playing too many players in the first ten minutes of these games.

And Whiz is not ready. Have no idea how Louisville recruited him. Andy Kanzig has more offensive skill. Sorry...but #11 has been brutal.

Need Brown and IJ.

I hate to be overly critical, but I’m beginning to to wonder the same thing with Whiz. I get 6’11 guys don’t grow on trees; but I’m not seeing how he landed at Louisville.

He’s the worst rebounder I’ve ever seen. Not for someone 7t, I mean ever.

Miles has 2 rebounds. He has none. I don’t even understand how you don’t even accidentally grab one.

UT scored 93 friday night v. UAB. Blew by that tonight with 110 and counting.

You've been saying it all year....spot on. It's hard to fathom a 7-footer being this non-existent.

We could bring back Saul now that he is a tenured DII coach.

After watching the Youngstown State - Notre Dame game I told a buddy YSU might win by 20. After watching Detroit Mercy... I think it'll be closer to 30. YIKES.

Nobody had giving up 320 yards and 4 touchdowns to Fotis Kokosioulis either no matter how low our expectation were for Ohio football.

Just pointing that out. I'm not saying that this team will turn it around. This was pretty dismal, I think Cleveland State is pretty awful, and the football team's turnaround is basically irrelevant to this teams chances to turn it around. AJ Brown is the great hope to make things better. After what I have seen I think we are probably in for a disappointing season and the interest late in the year will be trying to qualify for the MAC tournament. But things were pretty bleak looking in football too. We barely beat Fordham. We got crushed badly by both P5 opponents. Quite frankly, other than the score, we got beaten badly by Kent State as well. Their offense way having their way other than finding ways to not always score on every drive. There is no way, I mean just no way, that after we failed to score in OT that I would have thought that we would run off 6 in a row.

Also saw the YSU/ND game. If Detroit had better athletes and shooters than Ohio, wait til you see YSU. The portal has been kind with their top 4 players all upperclass transfers, led by Adrian Nelson (Pick Central) coming in after 4 years at NKU and Dwayne Cohill transferring in from Dayton.

Long season for sure. But losses to Penn St. and Iowa St. versus losses to Belmont and Detroit Mercy is not encouraging for hoops.

Sorry, but many on here sound like Zips fans last year pissing and moaning about how poor they looked early..

Zips had a crappy start and an outstanding MAC finish was the final result. Not saying the Bobcats will not be below expectations but the goal in a one bid conference is to win at the end. Christian won the MAC and you all hate him because he didn't take a sweet 16 roster back to the dance.

None of these games mean anything other than Boals figuring out the pieces that may show the most possibility. If he didn't play Wiz now, you'd be bitching that why is Boals sitting a Louisville transfer on the far end of the bench. The WizKid may be playing himself out of January playing time but at least Boals is finding out.

I know it's early but this is a BAD loss. Detroit Mercy has won 2 games in the past 2 years. This is not a team we should ever lose to, regardless of the circumstances

Where are you getting that Detroit has only won two games in the past two years?

Perhaps he is thinking of the Lions.

Also, Mike Davis. Not all that respected, but he’s put together a pretty solid career for himself. Probably deserves more credit than he gets, especially coming after Knight.

It wasn’t the P5 losses. Our defense wasn’t stopping anybody. Figuring it out to become the most dominant defense in the MAC was not on anyone’s BINGO card, either. I predict coach Boals and the team will figure out how to compete by the time we get to conference play.

A little chill needs to take place here. Detroit was hot tonight. Everything they threw up went in. Also Coach Boals played almost everybody He’s still trying to figure out what he has here. If we ever hit like Detroit did tonight, we’ll be praising him to the heavens. It’s way too early to pass judgement.

I don’t think he needs to carry us; but he gives us an actual wing and bumps one of Baker/Miles to the bench, which lengthens the team a bit more.

We just need some sort of identity/flow on offense.
