Never understood why we haven’t looked more to Miles as a go-to outside shooter. I’ve always thought he plays a little too selfishly and should shoot more even if his first couple attempts don’t go down.

Let me address your "spewing out propoganda" comment

As a broadcaster, a game like last night presents some challenges
from a TV standpoint. Our job (myself and Dave Cecutti) is to
do the best we can to keep the audience engaged in a broadcast. I don't
know who you are, but I would wager a guess Dave Cecutti has coached
more college basketball games than you have. There were various story
points that were important to bring up in a game like that, in our opinion,
and that's why we carried the conversation as we did at times. Dave had
various points of reference from a coaching standpoint that were worth
discussing during the game. There's no real sense in trying to break down
strategy in a game where the lead surpassed the 60-point mark.
We said at the top of the broadcast that it was a mismatch, we knew it,
Ohio knew it, UC Clermont knew it...no one hid from that. We were not
going to spend 2 hours taking anyone to task for the scheduling,(that's
not my job, and knowing how difficult it is to schedule games, I would
not do it anyway), the game broadcast is not a "sportstalk show"

Coach Boals and his staff work diligently to put a schedule together, and
they don't need me to defend them in this area. I'm sure they would have
loved for last night to be against "U-C" (without the Clermont attached).
So we were not going to question why the game the was scheduled, we were
going to point out what could be gotten from the match-up, why it was
important, and move on.

if that's "spewing out propoganda" to you, well I can't help you any further

Did you question why several starters - including our center with a fragile knee - were still in the game at the 13-minute mark of the second half?

Honest question -- I had the sound off.

Dude DW3 played a total of 12 minutes. No starter played more than 16. It's not like they were on the court the entire game to make such a big deal about it.

If you're that worried about it then maybe suggest Boals outlaws guys walking up Jeff hill?

Agree. DW3 was on the bench most of the game "coaching up" team mates. From seat right behind him.....

Marty is the consummate professional who has a boat load of experience in sports broadcasting at a number of levels. Ever try to make a blowout mismatch interesting? As he said, his job is to report the action and not to editorialize the selection of opponents.

Not once were the ESPN announcers critiqued on how well they kept the blow out interesting. And I'll stand by my comment on how one or both of them (I could, but won't, go back and rewatch this exhibition to remind myself) tried to justify Ohio having UC-Clermont on the schedule.

When the old rice paddy grunt and your favorite swabbie agree nothing more needs to be said. The case is closed.

So glad we had this great preparation game for a tough road contest at Marshall.

If you could reverse one of these, which would you pick?

1) Football win. Just because it would end the drought and we'd finally have a MAC ship.
2) Basketball win. This would be higher if we were better this year and road non-cons were important for ratings.
3) Everything else I had to do this weekend.
237) Soccer. It's... Soccer.

Definitely football. Had a great trip up with some friends, loved the energy of the crowd...it could've been a truly legendary core memory kind of day.

But it really sucks when your personal sports all just suck over and over at the same time.
