Myles Foster liked the Cornish commitment post. Seems like a good day for him to commit as well.

All this has me wondering if we are going to play an aggressive almost full-court type defense for the entire game and run new guys on and off the court at every TO to keep fresh bodies in the game. Looks like we'd have the depth to do that. If you can do that, you can wear the opposition down if they can't match your substitution pattern.

The fact that we could have Hunter starting next to two four star players (Brown/Cornish) with guys like Shareef Mitchell and Myles Brown leading the second unit is scary to think about. And I'm still incredibly high on Elmore James as well regardless of if he's starting or not.

I'm betting on Miles Brown in the starting 5 next season. It was tough seeing the frustration on his face during the MAC Tournament when he was sick but that is a kid who gave us 30+ minutes a game through MAC play.

At this point it's tough to guess what exactly our rotation will look like but for the starting 5 I'd say Jaylin/Miles/AJB at the guard spots with Shareef spelling Jaylin and a ton of Elmore as well. I think it'd be interesting to have Cornish in the Roderick role with Clayton at the 5 for a small ball type look but that may change based on what we do with our remaining scholarships.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Agreed. I'm very excited to see what happens with our remaining open scholarships. I think that'll tell us a lot about how Boals envisions our style of play next season.

Brandon Hunter was somehow rated 3-stars but had to be considered a tremendous get. Caris LeVert who didn't follow through on his committment was also surprisingly rated three, going by his NBA career which is going quite well.

LEST WE FORGET--I realize this was prior to the current ratings craze, but Walter Luckett was the top rated recruit in the nation, the National High School Player-of-the-Year following the 1971 high school season in which he AVERAGED a triple-double, posting these obscene digits--39.5 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists per game as a 6-4 left-handed sweet-shooting guard! By the way, he was averaging 45 points per game prior to suffering a knee injury late in the season that he continued to play on. He underwent the "knife" following the season. I know Walter well and have spoken previously with numerous college coaches who recruited him and several of his high school friends. They contend pretty much to a man although Walter was a really good college player, an all-American college player, the baller they saw whose high school jersey is in the NBA Hall of Fame, sadly the explosiveness and lateral movement he had was lost in the operating room.

He looked like "Fly" Williams. Glad Walter turned out better at life after hoops.

I know we should have recruited Bevo! LOL!

Just a slight correction on the number of scholarship offers Walter Luckett had. Put a 2 in from of the 50 and that brings it within range. I do believe the number was closer to 300. The only major program that didn't recruit him was John Wooden at UCLA.

Goodness...then count me in as having no perception of reality I guess. My god....just look at the numbers of the team when he's on the court. +/- is a good indicator and it was atrocious. I can go on and on about The Whiz, but time to re-focus on the portal and get big guys who can contribute and set a legal screen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erP8Ipe72IY

So this guy has no ability?

Jerry...if you watched The Whiz play 32 games this past season, then you know the answer to this question.

I'll leave it at this, the footage shown is REAL. The fact Boals has not capitalized on it seemingly in any way is not all on Wiz. Boals is struggling. I like him but he's not what many expected in terms of improving our program. And without Saul's recruits it would look even worse.

When was the last time you saw a guy look bad in a HIGHlight reel?

And against high school kids that he has a 6-8 inch height advantage over.

CJ Fredrick is leaving Kentucky. From Cincinnati, went to Covington Catholic HS in Kentucky. Ohio offered out of high school, but he ended up at Iowa.

Nope. I believe even Kenny Kaminski was rated higher (well, slightly higher).

Armon and Offutt were both 4*s I believe.

I think our best recruit ever is unquestionably Walter Luckett

I get what you're saying, but it is not a fair label when you're taking a transfer who had little to no career at his previous stop.

Gary Trent probably is our best recruit ever, but he wasn't close to being the highest rated. Trent-Luckett-Jamerson, all three would be on my all-time Ohio top 5.

One particular poster might throw a shoe at me for even pointing this out but all these posts counting who was rated 4 stars out of high school by some major site that are on the roster right now are forgetting Wiznitzer.
