Schmock a D3 was able to spark at the MAC level so conference player of the year and member of a Notional Championship team should be a good bet as well!

I wish we had Tommy for 4 years. He will go down as one of my favorite guys. Great teammate...great toughness--dude was a baller!

Just a guess ... but likely more credits transfer from Butler to Akron than Akron to Butler ... now he gets whatever credits he may have lost going to Butler, back, plus whatever transfers back from Butler.

The best of both worlds.

I'm all for Sunahara.

He shot 40% from 3 and there's this https://youtu.be/MOBHAsHxHno

I've seen crazier things happen.

Yeah, count me in on RJ as well. Won defensive player of the year from his conference before. Also, he would make BVP proud with that mustache he’s sporting…

Well, we can probably cool any potential interest in RJ. West Virgina, where his dad is head volleyball coach, has offered. Otherwise, I agree with all statements above.

Guess it depends what he's looking for. Is the Division II Player of the Year looking to come off the bench at WVU or start at Ohio and play 30 minutes per game in Athens...which last time I checked...would be an easy drive to see Dad in Morgantown.

You make valid points; my mind just immediately went to his dad must have talked to Hugs. To add more fuel of RJ to WVU; its backup big just entered the portal a few minute ago. I guess we’ll find out.

Former Akron seven footer Aziz Bandaogo is in the portal, citing mental health. Could be legit, or could be seeking an eligibility waiver. He left Akron for Utah Valley where he averaged a double double.

I don't think we need his services now with Cornish. Wonder where he will end up

I'll be the first to say he would have been well served to stay at Wright State instead of OSU.

I agree. As is, this roster has a rotation that in some form will have Hunter, Mitchell, Miles, AJ Brown, Cornish, Clayton, James and Wiznitzer. That doesn't include Ezuma, Hadaway, Sheldon or Nichol and another guy. If we add a Foster-type of player then we can take time to develop Ezuma and Hadaway slowly.

I know there's an injury involved, but Ezuma is entering his 3rd year of college. Developing slowly has already happened. Hopefully he's ready to play significant minutes in 2023-24.

And I think Hadaway, with an off-season in the weight room and the gym, could be noticeably improved this fall.

+1 with both of them.

Both made some very good plays defensively the few times I've seen them in the Convo and both really bring the hustle and fire. And - the few times I've ran into both on campus they are very nice.
But - both need to improve a bit offensively. Both are around 40% from the field and one thing I'm hoping for is they can get to 50% for next year. Ezuma seemed to get into foul trouble more than Hadaway. Both have similar rebounding numbers too - just can't wait to get back in the Convo this autumn. Hopefully I can make the O-Zone be even better as well! The guys deserve it.

It’s now or never for Ezuma. Hopefully, he’s prepared to ball out in 2023-2024. If not, most likely time to find a new home. We can’t wait forever. Not in today’s world of college hoops.

That's just not true. And is extremely short-sighted. You want to make a deep NCAA run as a mid? Yes you're going to need to hit on some portal guys, but you also need experience. And you DEFINITELY need to still find those under the radar guys. The diamonds in the rough who play at P5 level but slid to a mid. Sometimes that will require DEVELOPING guys, with PATIENCE. Specifically with bigs.

Dude has played 1 season in college as a backup. It's not now or never. If he's still not producing well in 24-25 then you might have a point.

I do get that as well. We can all agree that if Ezuma can give us a solid 15-20 minutes per game it will make a huge difference. Of course, minutes subject to change depending on which big Boals finds in the portal.

If Ezuma is not at least as good or better than G-Wiz, not sure what to say.

Both Wiz and Ezuma are, or at least were, foul magnets. Coming off the bench and playing spot minutes makes it not that big of a deal but if either is asked to play a 20 minute role they are going to have to adjust. A portal big remains an absolute must for this team or we will have no choice but to play Clayton at the 5 significantly. I don't hate the idea but I don't like that it might be the only option. I'd rather employ it when it helps with matchups or gives us an advantage not because we have no other options.

Kent reloads further, as Tyem Freeman transfers from UCF to Kent. 6'6 210 SG. should slot into 1st or 2nd string SG in relief of Bass.

I agree with this. Still need another big (portal or frosh) AND need one of Ezuma or Wiz to take the next step. Either could. Also possible neither do.

We enter May still searching for big man portal gold.
